Chapter 655 Dating
A gust of wind blew by and ripped the scarf right off her head, showing her face.
She was breathtakingly beautiful, with huge eyes and skin that shimmered like silver in the sunlight.
If you looked closely, you could see a layer of clear fish scales on her skin.
Her ears weren’t normal, either–they were pointy like an elf’s.
Right below her cars, you could see gills opening and closing.
Over the next few days, Caroline was living her best life.
To be honest, she hadn’t felt this relaxed even before the apocalypse started in her past life.
Her space was filled with food. Whatever she craved would show up the moment she thought of it.
Barbecue ribs, braised short ribs, milkshake, roasted chicken, pizza, fries–anything she wanted was there.
Every morning, she went to the training ground and ran a few laps. While sparring with Tyler, she got to admire his abs, and they’d hang out and grab food together afterward.
It weirdly felt like they were dating…
Nothing new happened between them. The most that happened was during one sparring match, when they both fell to the ground. Tyler stood up first and pulled Caroline He “accidentally” used too much force and pulled her straight into his arms.
“I swear Tyler did that on purpose!” Caroline later complained angrily to Kay.
Kay burst out laughing and pinched Caroline’s cheek. “Do you know you’re smiling while you’re saying that?”
Caroline fell silent.
She must be catching whatever love bug Snow and Raven had.
Those two had gone from “you run, I chase” to being totally inseparable.
Tyler couldn’t even find Snow anymore. Snow had basically moved into Caroline and Kay’s place.

But from what Caroline could tell, Snow still hadn’t fully won Raven over yet. They were still in the dating stage.
Jet was so salty about it that he plucked out a few of Raven’s furs. He even came to Caroline to whine. “Human! I started chasing Snow first, but why I do still haven’t won Snow over, and Raven already has a girlfriend?!”
Caroline gently patted Jet’s wing. A girl chasing a guy is always easier. Jet, you’re too passive!
Meanwhile, Francis was feeling just as stuck.
He had been trying everything to get Kay’s attention.
Anything that happened in the base, he asked Kay to help with.
When there was nothing to do, he’d look for Kay to chat or grab a meal.
But Kay was like a brick wall.
Work stuff? She did it seriously and never slacked off. After a while, Francis started to feel the pressure. The soldiers around them started calling Francis out for overworking her.
“Colonel Sutton, this isn’t right. Kay is amazing and works harder than ten people combined, but she’s not even officially in our unit. We should treat her like a guest!”
“Colonel Sutton, I think Kay looks thinner lately. Are you being too hard on her?”
Francis was speechless.
I’m not trying to overwork her! I’m trying to date her!
But to everyone else, including Kay, he just looked like a guy with way too much going on. Stuff he clearly could handle himself, yet he kept calling for help. So Lazy.
Poor Francis.
