Chapter 675 Alright, Let’s Do It
At that moment, Caroline felt her heart skip a beat.
The thunder of collapsing buildings nearby and the dying screeches of the monster seemed to vanish from her awareness.
The swirling sand, the crumbling floors, the splattering blood and flesh, none of it registered anymore.
All she could see was a pair of eyes.
In truth, Tyler was extremely tense.
He had always thought of himself as a steady, composed person.
Back when he was on missions, he could lie in a tropical rainforest, gun in hand and fully camouflaged, for five or six hours at a stretch.
No matter how the insects bit, how the wild animals roared nearby, or how cunning the enemy in front of him was, he was like a confident hunter or a seasoned veteran, steady hands on his weapon, steady steps on the ground.
That’s why, back then, he told Caroline he would give her time. He would always stand by her side, respecting her choice.
When Caroline gave him the same heartfelt response, Tyler felt it enough.”

The rest could be left to time.
Perhaps when this apocalypse ended, or when he and Caroline could finally find a stable, secure home to share, she would be willing to take a closer step with him.
He was willing to wait.
But anyone who has ever tasted love knows that, most of the time, love is more selfish than it is noble.
When you truly love someone, you worry about gain and loss. You want them to smile at you more, to look at you more, and to see only you in their eyes.
You hope every little thing in life intertwines with theirs. You want to walk hand in hand. You want them to love you as much as you love them.
Over the past few days, both Caroline and Tyler had been busy.
Caroline hadn’t paid much attention to him, and he quietly stayed nearby, like a knight always listening
for her call.
But he suddenly felt like he was going crazy.
Tyler was an intensely aggressive man.

Without that aggression, he wouldn’t have become a special forces soldier, wouldn’t have been feared as a legendary warrior, wouldn’t have risen to lead a team of mercenaries, or become someone even Crow feared.
For days, he had been holding himself back.
Caroline interacted with Nelson, even forming a bond that was almost like family, and Tyler had been jealous.
But he restrained himself.
Caroline even took Nelson into her personal space, a space Tyler hadn’t even entered.
He was jealous, but he restrained himself.
Francis came late at night to see Caroline, laughing and chatting with her. When he left, he even held her hand–Tyler saw it all!
He was jealous, but he restrained himself.
And yet, restraint has its limits. Eventually, it explodes.
Tyler retracted the metal cables he had released.
His hands were smeared with dark, bloody streaks, the blood of the mutated sandworm he had just cut
apart.
It dripped slowly from his fingertips, one drop at a time, barely audible amid the collapse around them.
Falling stones didn’t faze either of them.
Occasionally, one got too close, and Tyler sent it flying with his ability.
At this moment, even the falling debris and raging sand outside couldn’t compare to the raw aggression in Tyler’s gaze.
Caroline felt it clearly.
She took a deep breath, her heartbeat racing faster than ever.
Under Tyler’s intense stare, she lifted her chin slightly, a faint smile appearing at the corners of her mouth.
“Alright, let’s do it. The apocalypse could last forever, and there will always be things to deal with, so we might as well seize the moment…”
Before her words could finish, she suddenly felt herself being pulled into an embrace.
Before she could react, something soft pressed against her lips.
