Chapter 676 Third Wheel
“Sorry, I’m inexperienced. Let’s try that again.”
Tyler’s alluring voice whispered in Caroline’s ear.
In that moment, she felt her ears burn!
At the same time, the house–which had already survived a few quakes and had just been battered by Tyler’s powers–couldn’t take it anymore and finally collapsed with a deafening crash.
But neither of them moved an inch.
Suddenly, a massive metal shield formed behind Tyler, covering the two of them.
“From now on, we’ll face everything together.
“I’ll give my life to hold this umbrella over you.”
Tyler’s voice was serious and clear, cutting through the roar of the collapsing building.
When Caroline and Tyler walked hand in hand back into the base, it wasn’t like the whole place had exploded…
But the soldiers on duty stared wide–eyed. One even clutched his chest, looking like he might faint.
“Caroline’s in love? Is that Tyler? I’m not Tyler, but why do I feel heartbroken seeing Caroline’s dating him?”
“How did they go out for a minute and come back holding hands? What just happened?”
“Caroline, if you’re being kidnapped or threatened, just blink, okay!”
The soldiers whispered and muttered among themselves.
Some even shouted at Caroline directly, making her face turn bright red.
She tried several times to get Tyler to let go of her hand, but he refused stubbornly, a sly smile in his eyes. “Caroline, the base lights are out, so it’s dark. Holding hands makes it safer.”
Caroline didn’t bother arguing with him anymore. She let him have his way.

Chapter 676 Third Wheel
Her heart was actually full of joy.
In this apocalypse–or even in this life–she had never dared to hope for a genuine relationship. Yet by some twist of fate, she had met Tyler.

All the time they had spent together, the mutual respect and understanding had slowly healed her heart, damaged by past betrayals, and made her willing to believe again.
As they walked down the corridor toward her room, they saw Denton standing by the window, looking exhausted and seemingly doing nothing.
Seeing Caroline and Tyler approach, he yawned and stretched lazily.
Denton was wearing a simple two–piece pajama set with cartoon cat and mouse prints. On the shirt, the mouse clutched cheese and licked his lips; on the pants, the cat danced in a grass skirt.
The two pieces didn’t match–it was clearly a mismatched set–but in the apocalypse, a set of pajamas was better than nothing.
Even Caroline’s spatially–made socks hadn’t yet formed a complete pair.
Lately, her space seemed determined to frustrate her: the sock patterns had gone from simple red–and–green to bizarre combinations of car logos.
“Bro, where’d you go without a word? I thought something dangerous had happened, and I’d be stuck waiting here forever. And now… oh wow, did you just… lock it down with Caroline?”
Denton had been exhausted, but seeing Tyler holding Caroline’s hand instantly perked him up!
His eyes widened, though in this moment, he did feel like a third wheel.
Tyler had planned to speak privately with Caroline at her door, but seeing Denton there changed his plan.
Compared to Denton’s excitement, Tyler’s face darkened.
Finally, after Denton’s repeated exclamations, Caroline freed her hand from Tyler’s and laughed, “Let’s go inside and sleep. Everyone’s tired.”
Tyler looked at Denton and frowned. “Denton, I think you’ve grown up now. You’re strong enough, so you could almost stand on your own.”
