When Kay saw Caroline enter, she walked over and said, “He insisted on waiting for you in the room. I couldn’t sleep anyway, so I stayed here with him.”

She glanced at Shane, who gave a slight nod.

Caroline didn’t bother correcting him and gently patted his head.

Nelson stirred, rubbing his eyes and ruffling his messy hair. “Caroline, I’ve completed the preliminary research on the drug to block the Sea People’s sound. I can hand it over to the military tomorrow for testing on two of them.”
