Chapter 10 Your Mom Wants You Home
Chapter 10 Your Mom Wants You Home
After finishing the second pot, Reina finally felt warmth spreading through her whole body.
She checked her status panel again:
Name: Reina Ashworth

+20 Free Coins
Agility: 11 (Your Agility surpasses most humans, but to someone with an agility ability, you still look like you’re moving in slow motion)
Strength: 7

Abilities: Level 1 Harvesting Ability (Talent), EXP 3942. Upgrades at 5000.
Not bad. The Energy she spent harvesting had completely refilled after eating those two pots of rabbit meat.
n just half a day, her Physique had increased by two points. Reina felt full of energy, like her body had endless strength.
she couldn’t let the rest of the meat go to waste, and she wanted to see if eating more would trigger another miracle.
taw meat doesn’t last long, so she had to cook it all.
fer tiny pot was a pain to use, so she decided to head back to the trading hall to get a bigger one.
he should grab a stove, too. Burning wood directly on the floor wasted too much heat, and it could easily start a fire.
teina threw on her backpack and stepped out, only to find the building in total chaos.
Many people were rushing around. Others stood by the railings, looking down.
Reina leaned over to take a look, too. The huge courtyard below was crowded. Most of them looked like they were from the tent
irea.
‘hey had backpacks and luggage piled beside them, and they looked shaken.
he sky was already dim, like it was evening.
Reina looked up. The tempered glass ceiling above the courtyard was dark with countless insects, blocking out the daylight.
What do we do? There are mutant beasts everywhere outside…”
‘Mutant beasts aren’t as scary as these mutant bugs. I think we’re trapped here.”

“Agh! These damn things are burrowing into my skin!”
“Dig it out, fast! They lay eggs in your muscles. If they parasitize you, you’re done!”
“Help! Someone check my head! I think one already crawled in…”
People without protective suits were freaking out, begging their friends to check their faces and arms.
Reina frowned. She quickly pulled down her protective mask and sprayed another layer of bug repellent on herself before squeezing through the crowd and leaving the building.
Outside was worse. Insects filled the air like drifting snow.
They looked like a cross between a grasshopper and a giant mosquito, each one the size of an adult’s palm. The second they saw Reina, they swarmed her.
Reina scrambled back inside, only to get yelled at by the door guard.
“Can you stop walking around for no reason? Every time you open that door, you let more of these things in!”
“Sorry,” Reina apologized. She brushed the bugs off her protective suit and crushed them one by one under her boot.
Back in her room, she sent a message to Chloe: “Where are you guys?
Chloe replied instantly. “We’re in Building 7, Room 48, on the second floor. Just rented it. Where are you?”
Reina replied, “I’m also in Building 7. Room 59, fourth floor.”
Chloe replied, “No way! I’ll come find you later.”
Reina replied, “Okay.”
After a while, Chloe sent another message.
“Reina, my sister-in-law said you should stock up on water and food. No one knows when this bug disaster will end. If the camp runs out of supplies, we’re screwed.”
Reina understood. “Got it. I’ll go fill some water at the water station.”.
Chloe replied, “Hurry up. I just got back, and the line is long.”
“Got it.” Reina closed the chat and picked up her water bottles, shaking them.
Both were empty. She had used all the water cooking the meat.
Reina felt a little uneasy. She grabbed the two bottles and hurried out.
When she reached the water station on the first floor, there really was a long line.
Reina queued up and scanned the crowd, quietly counting heads.
There were at least two or three hundred people crammed into the courtyard. Add that to the more than 300 rooms in Building 7. That meant over 1,000 people were trapped in this building.

So many people living in one building meant food, water, and basic needs would become a big problem.
If the camp’s supply really got cut off, how many days could they last?
The more Reina thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. She even regretted spending all her points.

Luckily, she still had quite a few low-grade energy recovery potions. Worst case, she could always risk a harvesting run outside to keep from starving.
Just as she was thinking about this, she spotted Easton and the others walking her way.
Reina pretended not to see them and turned her head away.
But they still walked up to her. Amber even greeted her. “Reina, so you’re living in Building 7.”
Reina tilted her head and looked at her, confused.
“So what if I am?” she asked.
For some reason, the way they were looking at her felt strange.
Amber just smiled and said nothing.
