Blake sat down and told Taylor to slice a few more pieces from the meat before placing them back into the testing machine.

A moment later, Blake picked up the new report and raised an eyebrow. “It really is very clean.”

He set the report down and leaned toward Reina with a smile. “How much of this meat do you have?”

“Two hundred pounds,” Reina replied.

“Two hundred pounds, huh.” Blake rubbed his chin and thought for a moment. “Then I’ll give you 50 points per pound. You know the situation outside. Mutant rats are everywhere, and plenty of people will come to exchange things later…”

“Hold it.” Reina stood up and reached for the sliced meat. “If it puts you in such a difficult position, then I won’t exchange it here. I can sell it to the mercenaries instead. They definitely won’t refuse clean mutant rat meat.”

Everyone knew that when mercenaries and ability users returned from missions, they needed high-quality protein to recover their stamina quickly.

If she sold this clean mutant rat meat to them for 100 points per pound, they would probably still accept it.

After all, the honey-glazed meat at the camp’s small cafeteria came in tiny portions. A single plate only had about ten small pieces. There wasn’t even a full pound, yet it cost more than 200 points. It was outrageous.

Blake quickly stopped Reina’s hand and sighed. “Alright, alright. My mistake. The most I can offer is 80 points per pound. Not a point more. If you still don’t accept it, then go ahead and sell it to the mercenaries.”

Hearing that, Reina slowly sat back down and gestured for Chloe to take out all the meat.

“Since you’re being sincere, I’ll be fair too. All 200 pounds are here.”

Two hundred pounds of clean mutant rat meat sold for 16000 points. Reina then exchanged two low-grade energy tones and a refined steel machete, which cost 8000 points.

Of course, the machete points were taken in advance and would not count as part of the team’s income. Reina would pay for that herself.

As for the two energy stones, those definitely count as the team’s expenses.

Out of the remaining 9000 points, Reina kept 5000 for herself and let the others divide the remaining 4000,

Chloe, Dylan, and Sasha had no objections. Gerard was even more delighted.

Sometimes they could work an entire week and still fail to earn that many points. Now they had only gone out for an hour, and each of them received 1000 points. It felt like hitting the jackpot.

If they had an extra protective suit, Gerard might have even wanted his wife to go out of the camp on missions as well.

“Reina, when are we going out again?” Chloe asked excitedly. She could hardly wait and looked ready to rush out and hunt mutant beasts right away.

Reina glanced at the sky. “It’ll be dark soon. Let’s eat and get some sleep first. We’ll talk about it tomorrow morning.”

“Okay!” Chloe nodded eagerly and moved closer to Reina with a grin. “Let’s cook mutant rat meat tonight. Mabel is an amazing cook. Just wait until you taste it.”

Hearing that, Reina felt a spark of anticipation.

To be honest, she had always been fond of the honey-glazed meat from the camp cafeteria. If it weren’t so expensive, she would have eaten there every day.

Now that she had access to mutant rat meat without parasites or viruses, who would still bother with that cafeteria food?

If Mabel really knew her way around the kitchen, she was in for something good.

While thinking about it, the group returned to Building 7.

They saw Mabel standing anxiously at the entrance, looking around. The moment she spotted them, her eyes lit up.

“Did anyone get hurt?” She immediately grabbed her husband and turned him around to check. When she saw that his protective suit was not damaged, the heavy weight in her heart finally lifted.

After that, she went to check on Sasha and Chloe.

Chloe laughed. “We’re all fine. Thanks to Reina’s flamethrower. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have made it.”

“That’s right,” Sasha added.

Mabel was about to say something else when Gerard cut her off. “Go ahead and cook first. We’re starving.”

Chloe pulled out a large piece of mutant rat meat from her backpack and handed it to Mabel. “We’ve got meat today. It’ll take some effort, but cook it all. Let’s have a proper meal.”

“Wow! That’s a lot!” Mabel held the meat and stared at it with wide eyes. “Cook all of it? Can we even finish it?”

Gerard urged Mabel inside. “Just hurry up. And make some buns while you’re at it.”

Mabel was pushed inside by her husband, but she didn’t mind. She quickly took out the pots and utensils and began preparing the meal.

Seeing this, Sasha went to help as well. She even brought out some of her treasured whole wheat flour with bran, ready to knead dough and make buns.

Reina looked around Chloe’s living space. It was slightly larger than her own room and divided into two small sections.

She wondered where Chloe slept at night.

Still, she had no intention of inviting Chloe to stay with her. Even though they were teammates, it was better to keep a bit of personal space.
