Chapter 37 Harvest Limit
“Okay.”
Reina moved around to the side of the beast and slowly got closer.
The magpie sat on her shoulder, eyeing the monster warily.
As she got closer, Reina’s heart pounded.
This mountain-sized monster wasn’t just huge-it gave off a heavy, crushing pressure.
Reina steadied herself. She picked up Maggie and tossed it into the air behind her. “Go! Fly away for a bit!”
The little magpie was confused but shot up into the sky, chirping in protest,
Reina ignored it and kept moving forward.
The trapped beast was still roaring, but less often now.
The one on the shore, though, was furious, charging around wildly. Every time it spotted a human, it rammed over like crazy.
Because of that, the mercenaries stayed far away. No one dared get close to the pit.
Reina was actually glad about that. She didn’t want anyone to see what she was about to do.
But what was with the two drones in the sky?
I really want to shoot them down.
Just as she thought that, Maggie suddenly flew toward the drones, treating them like enemies.
But the drones fought back immediately.
Caught off guard, Maggie lost a few feathers.
Big mistake.
Maggie let out a sharp cry. Soon, magpies started flying in from all directions.
These birds were huge; they were two to three times bigger than Maggie, clearly older birds.
Their loud calls filled the sky as a whole flock surrounded the drones. Within moments, both drones were
down.
On top of a distant armored vehicle, the mercenary controlling the drones stared in shock, heartbroken.
“Where did all these stupid birds come from? Why are they picking a fight with my drones?”
Another operator rolled his eyes. “That’s on you. Why’d you attack that little magpie? Now mine’s gone too.”
On the other side…

Reina watched the birds ganging up on the drones and felt a huge wave of relief that she’d never tried to hurt Maggie. If she had, she’d probably end up just like those drones.
She moved closer. Now she was only about three feet away from the beast.
First, Eye of Insight.
“Energy -1. EXP +10. Target stats: Level 5 mutant Ironthorn Beast. Age: 4. Energy: 58. Contamination Value: 589. Skill: Level 3 Domain. Creates a slowing zone within 45 feet for 60 seconds. Costs 10 Energy per use. Cooldown: 30 minutes.”
Reina clicked her tongue.
No wonder even bullets couldn’t pierce it. Its Physique was over 300.
Its 400 Strength was even scarier. If it charged the camp walls, who knew if they’d hold?
But when Reina saw the last line, she lit up. So the Ironthorn Beast’s ability had a cooldown of 30 minutes
It probably hadn’t been 30 minutes yet. She had to move now.
Reina stepped forward, reached out, and used her Harvesting Ability.
Ding! “Energy -5. Harvest successful. EXP +100. Gained Physique +5.”
Damn! Harvesting a Level 5 Ironthorn Beast cost 5 Energy?
But the reward was huge, so it kind of evens out.
With the extra Physique, a warm feeling spread through her body. The pain in her organs eased.
No time to waste. Round two.
Ding! “Energy -5. Harvest successful. EXP +100. Gained Strength +2.”
The gain dropped? No big deal. Keep going, keep going!
At that moment, the beast became furious. It could feel its stats dropping and knew something was wrong.
It roared wildly, struggling hard, its massive body sinking to its knees in the mud.
But its limbs seemed stuck, like something was holding them in place. It couldn’t move.
Ding! “Energy -5. Harvest successful. EXP +100. You obtained an Ironthorn Beast horn. Contamination Value: 65. Can be used to craft high-quality weapons.”
Reina stared at the five-foot horn on the ground, stunned.
What the hell?
How did she pull the horn right off the monster’s head? But it was like a mini version of the real thing.
She looked at the beast. One of its horns was gone.
