Wasteland Queen: My Harvest Power novel Chapter 52

Chapter 52 Cutting Ties

“Wait.” Reina pointed at her mother, Helen. “She deliberately hit my injured leg. Get her out

The nurse looked at Helen in disbelief. “Who are you? Why would you hit her injury?”

“I’m her mother!”

Helen shot to her feet and pointed at Reina, shouting, “You ungrateful beast! You’re asking people to throw your own mother out? How did I raise such a heartless, disobedient child?”

“If you want to make a scene, go do it somewhere else. Don’t embarrass yourself here,” Reina replied coldly. not even looking up from her smartwatch.

Seeing her eldest daughter treat her like this, Helen flew into a rage and lunged forward to grab the watch. “Fine, you want me gone? Transfer all the points in your account to me! I worked myself to the bone raising you, and now I’m the villain?

“Since that’s the case, let’s just cut ties! You go your way, I’ll take your siblings and go ours….”

Reina’s anger surged. She swung her arm, and Helen was sent flying straight out of the ward, crashing hard onto the floor.

Everyone in the room froze.

Especially Amber, who stared at Reina in shock.

As an ability user, she could clearly tell how much force was behind that casual swing.

“You… you’re Level 3 now?”

Reina ignored her and said to the nurse, “Please remove that woman. I don’t want her anywhere near my

room.”

“Y-Yes.” The young nurse, clearly shaken, hurried out to call security.

Outside the ward, Helen was still dazed, not even understanding how she ended up on the floor.

When she tried to get up, her whole body ached.

“Mom! What happened? Why are you on the ground?” Hearing the commotion, Stella rushed out of Francis’s room. Seeing her mother sprawled on the floor, she quickly helped her up.

With Stella’s support, Helen finally stood, her tailbone throbbing. She pointed at the ward and screamed. “You damned brat! You dare lay hands on your own mother!

“Why didn’t you just die out there? So many good people died, but why not you?”

But despite her shouting, she didn’t dare step any closer to Reina.

Stella glanced into the room, seeing her older sister lying on the bed. A calculating glint flashed through her

eyes.

Chapter 52 Cutting Ties

“Reina, how could you hit Mom? How could you do that? Dad passed away carly, so Mom raised us all by herself. And now that you’ve awakened, you refuse to acknowledge her? You think we’re a burden dragging you down, don’t you? But no matter what, you shouldn’t hit her! She came here because she cares about you…”

Her tearful speech stirred up outrage among the onlookers in the ward. “What kind of person is that? Just because she awakened, she thinks she’s above everyone? Even hits her own mother?”

“Exactly! You might as well raise a grasshopper if you have a child like that!”

“Let me see what she looks like! Damn it, if I ever see her, I’ll beat her up!”

The crowd buzzed with anger, some even itching to rush in and teach that “ungrateful daughter” a lesson.

Reina ignored it all.

To her, they were nothing but strangers echoing each other’s nonsense.

She calmly used her smartwatch to rent an apartment. It was a top-floor unit with one bedroom and one living room.

Five thousand points a month. One month deposit, and one month rent upfront.

Outside the ward, Stella was about to continue her act when several security guards surrounded them.

“Miss, this is the inpatient wing. Please keep it quiet. You’re disturbing others. Please leave immediately.”

Seeing her goal achieved, Stella didn’t argue further. With a sorrowful expression, she helped her mother leave.

Francis, leaning on his crutch, followed them out. “Mrs. Foster, Stella, don’t be upset. Reina is vicious, and she’ll get what’s coming to her.”

With tearful eyes, Stella looked at him, her voice trembling. “This is my fault. It’s not my sister’s fault. If my brother and I had awakened too, she wouldn’t despise us like this…”/

Helen wiped her eyes at the right moment and said softly, “Oh, honey, how could this be your fault? It’s just that I am so useless that I don’t have the money to buy you an awakening potion.”

Hearing this, Francis frowned and thought for a moment. “Mrs, Foster, Stella, don’t worry. I’ll try raising funds in the group and see if we can gather enough points for an awakening potion.”

“Really? Francis, you’re too kind!”

This time, Stella was genuinely excited. She hugged his arm and said sweetly, “If I awaken, I’ll listen to everything you say. You’ll be like my real brother.”

Being hugged by such a delicate girl, Francis’s face flushed red. He stammered, “I-it might not work…”

“Whether it works or not, I’m grateful. Francis, you’re really kind. I’m truly, truly glad I met you.”
