Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 123

Lennon's thoughts were laid bare, and his assistant, sensing there was no longer any need to linger, quickly came up with an excuse and drove off.

The film set was close by, and the hotel rooms had all been booked well in advance—there wasn't a single vacancy left.

Lennon had initially suggested he should leave.

Seren glanced at her phone to check the time, then spoke softly.

"Just stay in my room tonight. At this hour, I doubt you'll find anything open."

She remembered what his assistant had said earlier—Lennon had worked up until seven, then made the long trip to Riverbend City just to see her.

Her heart softened. She couldn't bring herself to make Lennon run around town, searching for somewhere to stay, not when he'd already had such a long day.

Besides, it was already late—almost ten-thirty.

Lennon's eyes darkened, the corners of his lips quirking into a quiet smile. "Alright."

It was only then that Seren realized she'd just invited Lennon to share her bed. A flush crept up her cheeks.

It felt awkward at first, but then she remembered—they were married. Sharing a room, sharing a bed, was perfectly normal.

The receptionist at the front desk, however, seemed surprised. A married couple, clearly on good terms, and yet they were booking separate rooms? She couldn't quite make sense of it.

Once the paperwork was done, Seren led Lennon upstairs. Thankfully, they didn't run into anyone they knew along the way.

Back in the room, Seren—already showered—slipped beneath the covers.

Lennon took his turn in the bathroom, and when he emerged, he lay down quietly beside her.

This time, Seren didn't feel the same nervousness she'd experienced that first night. After all, sharing a bed once made the second time seem almost natural.

The room was quiet, and Lennon's presence felt real and close. The gentle, familiar scent of cedar drifted between them, softening the silence.

Seren wasn't much of a talker—she had no idea what to say.

Lennon, perhaps sensing her shyness, didn't force conversation. He simply lay beside her, calm and unhurried.

Time passed in silence.

Seren tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep. Eventually, she broke the quiet, turning to Lennon and whispering, "Why did you come all this way?"

The only light in the room was a small, dim lamp. In the faint glow, Lennon's eyes glinted with warmth.

"I missed you."
