Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 215

Outside the villa, a black Bentley was parked with its hazard lights flashing. Seren got in first, followed by Lennon. After a brief greeting to the assistant, the car pulled away, and she turned to watch the scenery pass by. The morning air in Seaside City was cold, but the car was warm and cozy. A layer of mist covered the windows, blurring the outside world into a dreamlike watercolor.

"Mrs. Crestwell," Lennon's voice murmured, suddenly close. "I have to go on a business trip this afternoon. I just wanted to let you know."

His warm voice was pleasant to her ear. "Okay," she replied, an immediate pang of disappointment hitting her. "How long will you be gone?"

"At least three to five days. It's a very important project."

"Alright."

"I've already spoken with the property management at Rippling Gardens. They're going to increase security. If Sheridan comes back, he won't be able to get in." In fact, the only reason Sheridan had gotten in this time was because Lennon had allowed it. It was a high-end community; not just anyone could enter.

"Okay," Seren murmured, trying to ignore the strange feeling in her chest.

"While I'm gone, a housekeeper will come to cook for you. If you feel uncomfortable staying alone at Rippling Gardens, you can always stay with Nadine for a while. I'll pick you up when I get back."

"I'll figure it out," she said.

"Alright." Lennon's long lashes lowered as he leaned in close to her ear. "When you introduced me to him earlier," he whispered, "I felt so proud to be acknowledged by you."
