Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 216

Her gaze followed the Dowager's finger to a slightly yellowed photograph. The baby in the picture was tiny, with a small, red, wrinkled face. But even then, the sharp contours of his features were unmistakably Lennon's.

After studying it for a moment, Seren shook her head with a smile. "Grandma, Lennon wasn't ugly at all. All babies look like that. You can see his features were more defined than most."

"Ah, that's just because you're looking at him with love in your eyes," the Dowager chuckled. "Even Shirley and Jason say he was an ugly baby whenever they look at this album."

The phrase "love in your eyes" made Seren pause for a moment. She then smiled, not denying it. "Maybe you're right. But I honestly don't think he's ugly. He looks so soft and small, with a natural cuteness." Thinking of the man Lennon had become, she concluded that beautiful people were just beautiful from the start.

"Here, you can look through it. This album is filled with pictures of him." The Dowager handed the album to Seren.

"Okay," Seren said, taking it from her.

She started from the first page, turning them one by one. There were so many photos. As a child, Lennon's face was round and cherubic. As he grew, his features sharpened, and his eyes took on a cool, distant look. Watching the boy in the photos transform from an innocent child to a composed man stirred a strange feeling within her. With each picture, she felt like she was getting to know him a little better.

And every single photo appealed to her artistic sensibilities, especially a graduation picture of him in a white shirt. He was standing on the newly laid red track of Seaside City Academy, the white lines stark against it. The sun shone on his youthful, handsome face, his expression full of confidence, his eyes clear and bright. The white shirt he wore made him look otherworldly, untouched by the dust of the mortal world. Even the sunlight seemed to dim in comparison to his radiance.
