Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 265

Seren slept soundly until the next morning. Winter was approaching, and the sun rose later. When she woke, the sky outside was just beginning to lighten.

The steady rhythm of quiet breathing came from the pillow next to her. Lennon was still asleep. They had fallen asleep in each other's arms. Her head was resting on his arm, her own arm draped over his waist. He was on his side, his body curved around hers, holding her close. They had never been this close before.

She wanted to get up but was afraid of waking him, so she lay perfectly still. In the pale morning light, she watched him sleep, her gaze lingering on his lips. They were beautifully shaped, perfect for kissing. The thought brought back memories of last night's long, deep kisses, which had felt as if they could have stretched on for an eternity. She had been caught in a gentle whirlwind, unable and unwilling to escape.

Her eyes traced the lines of his face—his firm mouth, his strong nose, his closed eyes. Suddenly, her gaze met a pair of deep, clear eyes, like ancient, tranquil pools.

His eyes shifted from sleepy confusion to clear awareness, and a smile touched their depths. He leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her face.

"Good morning, Mrs. Crestwell." His voice was low and husky with sleep, a sound so alluring it could make a woman's heart race.

"Morning," she replied. Her own heart skipped a beat, whether from the kiss or the sound of his voice, she wasn't sure.

When she went into the bathroom, she saw that her reflection was blushing, a soft, rosy hue dusting her cheeks. She was losing all resistance to him. His body, his lips, his voice—everything about him seemed to have a filter on it that made her heart flutter.

Looking down, she noticed that the bathroom counter was now neatly arranged for two. There were two neatly folded towels, two rinsing cups, two toothbrushes. The change had happened so gradually that she hadn't even noticed.

When she came out, Lennon was buttoning the last button of his white shirt. The soft morning light streamed in, illuminating his handsome face and tall, straight posture. His fingers were long and slender, his knuckles well-defined. He looked like a masterpiece of art, radiating a constant glow.

He nodded.

A blush crept up Seren's face, a wave of emotion washing over her. It wasn't just women who dressed to please their admirers; men did, too.

Lennon finished with his shirt and started on his tie.

"I forgot something," Seren said suddenly. "The clothes I bought for you are still in the back of the car."
