Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 266

After her shopping trip with Nadine, she had been so preoccupied with the Sheridan situation that she had completely forgotten about the things she'd bought for Lennon.

She started to run out to get them, but Lennon stopped her, wrapping a thick coat around her shoulders before letting her go.

She returned with four bags, which she thrust into his hands. "I bought these for you when I was out with Nadine. There's a shirt, a tie, a belt, and a suit jacket. I just picked them out myself, so they might not be as nice as your other clothes, but they should be wearable."

The clothes she'd bought were all from high-end luxury brands, each piece costing a small fortune. But Lennon's clothes were all custom-made, tailored from the finest materials. The ready-to-wear luxury brands that most people coveted couldn't compare. She suspected he didn't even know the names of these brands, so she didn't mention them.

Lennon had no shortage of money, but she did. She had used her own private account for the purchase, not the black card he had given her. She had always believed that even in marriage, a woman should maintain her financial independence.

"I love anything my wife buys for me," Lennon said, the corners of his eyes crinkling with a smile. "Thank you, wife."

The endearment, spoken in his deep, affectionate voice, sent a fresh wave of heat to Seren's face. She couldn't meet his intense gaze, but she couldn't deny that she loved the sound of it.

This painting was larger than *The Shadowed Oak* and needed to be hung higher up, which meant Lennon had to stand on a stool. He positioned the painting while Seren stood below, handing him tools from the toolbox. They had developed a smooth rhythm from the last time, and they worked well together.

Seren held the stool steady, with little else to do but pass him tools. Her eyes naturally drifted to him. It was cold outside, but the heating was on, making the room pleasantly warm. Through the fabric of his white shirt, she could see the faint outline of his muscles, his sleeves rolled up to his forearms. A light sheen of sweat glistened on his brow. There was a unique sort of sexiness to his focused expression.

Her mind drifted back to the workout photo. It really was an invitation to sin. Last night, when her hand had rested on his waist, it hadn't been with her usual calm detachment. Even through his clothes, she could feel the lean strength of him. Her thoughts about him were becoming less and less pure.
