Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 282

"Our Sheridan has made it clear that the only person he loves is Seren. She is the only daughter-in-law we will ever accept. I don't like you, and Sheridan doesn't like you. Even if you scheme your way into our family, you won't gain a thing. You'd be wise to know your place, or this will end badly for everyone."

Without waiting for a reply, Diana hung up. It was a warning shot. She couldn't fight Garry head-on, so she would have to pressure Willa into backing down herself.

Downstairs, Garry finished his cigarette and, without any intention of going up, skillfully tapped another one from the pack and lit it. He was trying to figure out how to stall, how to delay this whole affair. If he could find a way to keep Willa out of the family, he would.

Just then, his phone chimed with a notification.

He pulled it out. It was a message from Willa, with a photo attached.

He opened it. It was a picture of him and Willa in bed together. The lighting was dim, but it was unmistakably them, with only a sheet covering their bodies. It was also painfully obvious that they were both naked beneath it.

Garry's face turned ashen.

He had navigated the cutthroat world of business for decades, only to be cornered and blackmailed by a woman half his age. And there was nothing he could do. If that photo got out, the consequences would be catastrophic. It wouldn't just be a matter of public humiliation; the scandal would drown him.

He crushed the cigarette butt into the ashtray, glanced at his watch, and dialed Sheridan's number. He knew it was late and his son was likely asleep, but he couldn't afford to wait. He needed to settle this matter with Willa immediately before things spiraled further out of control.

The phone rang several times, and just before it went to voicemail, Sheridan picked up.

Before his son could even speak, Garry's voice cut through the line, cold and commanding. "Sheridan, you're coming to the family estate tomorrow. I've already called the Sullivans. We're going to arrange your marriage to Willa."

"She drugged you? And you couldn't have found another woman? You had to go for Willa? Now she's pregnant, and the Sullivans are at our door. Their estate is just down the road. We see them everywhere. How do you expect us to face them?"

Sheridan fell silent. After a long pause, he finally said, "I don't care. I'm not marrying her. You can deal with them however you want."

With that, he hung up, his tone suggesting the entire mess had nothing to do with him.

Garry was so furious he hurled his phone against the wall.

He couldn't control himself, dragged the family into this massive scandal, and still had the audacity to be so defiant? He swore under his breath. A sack of potatoes would be more useful than a son like him.
