Jocelyn looked at Yannick in stunned silence.
Yannick took a deep breath, then continued, "Don't worry. I won't make things difficult for you. Just say the word, and I'll give you my blessing."
He was being sincere.
In the past, Yannick had always seen Calvin devoting his all to Cecilia and thought he was foolish for loving a woman who didn't love him back.
However, he now realized that some things just couldn't be controlled.
Jocelyn was touched.
However, she didn't hesitate to say, "I meant everything I said just now, Yani. We are married, and I won't betray you for anyone."
She then clarified, "Nicholas came to find me just now. I didn't know he was downstairs, and I never took any of his words seriously."
With that, Yannick finally felt better.
He forced a smile and replied, "That's good."
Just a moment ago, he thought he was being cheated on and that Jocelyn was untrustworthy. But now, the facts proved that he hadn't misjudged her.
"Let's go home," Jocelyn said, crinkling her eyes into a smile.
"All right," Yannick replied, starting the car.
As the car passed the office entrance, Jocelyn couldn't help but see Nicholas from the corner of her eye. Her throat felt tight, as if something was lodged in it.
Honestly, I wish everything could have happened much earlier. If it had, I'd have agreed to be with him without hesitation. But...
Jocelyn shifted her gaze, not daring to look at Nicholas again.
The many years of loving him made her realize that letting go of him completely would be incredibly difficult.
After they drove away, Nicholas stood there alone for a long time, unable to accept what had happened.
He thought that if he asked, Jocelyn would choose to be with him without a second thought.
Was I being too narcissistic?

Elena raised her hand to pat his back. "Are you okay?"
However, Nicholas couldn't answer through the coughing.
When the coughing finally stopped, he didn't want any more water.

Nicholas' blank eyes became lifeless. "Don't be sad. I'm fine."
Elena didn't believe him.

Wren chimed in, "That's right. Even healthy people shouldn't binge on alcohol, let alone you. You're weak, to begin with."
Nicholas didn't reply. Just then, the door to the ward was pushed open from outside.
