Robert put on a show of being unbelievably generous.
Wren shook his head again and again. "Brother, what are you saying? Dad's will already made it clear. The property went to you. How could I fight you for it?"
Robert tightened his hand around the cup and lowered his head with a long sigh.
"The main thing is, I disappointed Dad as his son. The reason he gave all the property to me was because he said he was worried about my future. He was afraid I wouldn't be able to make money later and would end up living a hard life."
Then he looked at Wren again, his eyes glossy with tears.
"Wren, your Nathaniel turned out well. He's got a company that big. My son, though... he's useless. He stays at home all day and does nothing. All he knows is how to eat, drink, and fool around. When I get old, who knows what kind of miserable life I'll end up with?"
Listening to Robert say all that, Wren's eyes filled with pity.
"Brother, why are you saying that? Don't think like that. We're family. How could we just stand by and watch your house fall apart?"
Robert nodded hard. "I know you've always been good to me. It's just Nathaniel and the others who still have some misunderstandings about me."
"I've already talked to Nathaniel. He stopped holding this against you a long time ago," Wren said, trying to reassure him.
Robert spoke again. "Then could you ask Nathaniel for help? Have him talk to Mr. Chandler for me?"
Wren hesitated.
Before this, when Wren had asked Nathaniel to help Robert, Nathaniel had already made himself clear. He would help with that one matter, and after that, he wouldn't help with anything else.
"Forget it. Looks like Nathaniel still hasn't let go of what happened with me."
Wren answered right away. "What are you talking about? I'll have Nathaniel help with it right now. This is for the Rainsworth family cemetery. He'll definitely be willing to help."
"Good." Robert's mouth nearly lifted into a smile, but he held it back.
Then he added, "But this time, whatever you do, don't say this was my idea. I'm still worried..."
"Alright. I'll just say I took a liking to that piece of land myself, that it's a prime burial site with good feng shui."
"Mm. Good."
Once the two brothers had it settled, Wren went looking for his son without wasting a second.
Nathaniel had been staying by Cecilia's side the whole time lately.
Just a little earlier, he had also found out about Jon's fight with Felix.

"Son, whatever you do, don't help with this. No one knows what your uncle is really planning. He's too calculating."
The moment Nathaniel heard this land was something Robert wanted, the whole matter stopped sounding simple.
"Don't worry, Mom. I'll look into it first."
"Good. That's good."
Only then did Elena ease up.
*****
Nathaniel had Arnold send over Mr. Chandler's number, then called him directly.
Mr. Chandler might not have cared about giving Wren face, but he still didn't dare offend Nathaniel.

"Before I came to you, who else tried to buy that land from you?" Nathaniel asked instead of answering.
Mr. Chandler hesitated for a long moment before he said, "One was your uncle. The other was your father."
