Cecilia reached over and rubbed Elliot's head.
After they finished paying respects to Regas, Cecilia took them to bring flowers to Martha too.
All this time, Martha had been just like Cecilia's own mother.
"Mom, I miss you so much."
She said it softly.
But no one would ever hold her and soothe her the way Martha had when she was little.
Nathaniel took Cecilia's hand.
"If Martha could see how well you're living now, she'd be happy for you too."
Cecilia gave a firm nod.
They had spent the whole day outside, and by the time they got back, every last one of them was worn out.
They still had to take the two little ones to Rainsworth Manor, so Cecilia and the others simply stayed there for the night too.
After Elena coaxed her two little grandsons to sleep, she turned to Cecilia and said, "They must've worn themselves out today. They fell asleep the second they came back."
Cecilia smiled.
"Yeah. They played for a long time."
"That works out too. Let them play more in the daytime, and then they can get a good night's rest."
While the two of them were chatting, the servant walked over and said to Elena, "Mdm. Elena, Miranda is here."
Elena looked up at her, puzzled.
"What did she come here for?"
The servant shook her head.
"I don't know."
"Let her in."
Elena didn't like Miranda, but she couldn't very well shut her out at the door.
It wasn't long before Cecilia and the others saw Miranda walking into the house.
"Aunt Elena, Ceci."
By the time Miranda reached them, her face was already piled with smiles.
Elena gave a slight nod.
"Mm. Miranda, did you come by for something?"
"Nothing much. I just saw that Ceci was back, so I came over to chat with her."
As she spoke, Miranda had already sat down.
