"Besides, Robert, you taught us yourself that even between brothers, accounts should be kept clear. Since we've already signed the contract, there's no way we'd return it. Otherwise, what kind of deal would that even be?"

Nathaniel spoke at an easy, unhurried pace.

His tone couldn't have sounded calmer, but somehow it only made it harder to sit through.
