Elena's face stiffened, and every bit of her good mood vanished on the spot.

"Hmph." She let out a cold snort. "Wren, just worry about yourself. I'll do whatever I want. Since when is it your place to tell me what to do?"

With Cecilia standing right there, Wren's face turned grim.

"How did you turn into this?" he said, then walked off with his hands clasped behind his back.

The second he was gone, Elena hurriedly turned to Cecilia.

"Ceci, come on. Let's go see Robert."

Cecilia naturally couldn't refuse.

"Okay."

As soon as she got into the car and they headed to see Robert, she immediately pulled out her phone and sent Nathaniel a message.

Not for any other reason.

Just because once they got there, that side was definitely going to turn into a complete mess.

Cecilia figured she'd better stay farther back when that happened.

Nathaniel was still outside handling work.

When he saw her message, he didn't hesitate for a second and told her,

"Wait for me. I'll be there right away."

Nathaniel normally stayed with Cecilia the whole time.

Today, though, an important partnership had come up at the last minute.

Then he had the driver take him to Cecilia.

Nathaniel moved even faster than Cecilia.

He got there first and waited outside.

Elena and Cecilia arrived after that.

The moment she got out of the car and saw Nathaniel, Elena stared at him in surprise.

"Nathaniel, why are you here too? Weren't you out handling work?"

"I finished up. Ceci said you were coming to visit Uncle, so I came along on the way," Nathaniel said.

Elena nodded.

"So that's what it was. Good. Let's go in together and see him."

The food in Robert's mouth lost all taste.

Elena pulled out a chair and sat down.

She said it so plainly that the look on Robert's face tightened on the spot.

He was just about to snap back at Elena when he saw Nathaniel and Cecilia come in too.

At the sight of Nathaniel, he hurriedly smoothed the ugly look off his face.

The group all sat down.

"I really never expected my daughter-in-law to be that kind of woman. This time, I've thrown away every bit of face I had left."

Elena hadn't expected Robert's skin to be this thick. He could actually bring it up himself.

No wonder he always came back up no matter how hard he got hit.

They were just about to speak when Robert's secretary walked in.

The secretary stepped up to Robert and leaned in to whisper a few words into his ear.

Robert's face went from green to white, and the look in his eyes turned especially complicated.
