When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 115

**Silent Roads Remember by Sawyer**

**Chapter 115**

At the bustling airport, Elaine stood with her arms crossed, her lips curling into a cold, mocking smile as she locked eyes with Paul. “Is he truly that heartless? He can’t even be bothered to say goodbye one last time?” Her voice dripped with sarcasm, a sharp edge cutting through the air between them.

Paul had reached his limit with her incessant snark. It was a familiar dance, one that had grown wearisome over time.

The moment he had uncovered Titus’s intentions, everything fell into place.

Titus was prepared to sever ties with Elaine, to let her go.

Any remnants of goodwill that lingered between them were hanging by the thinnest of threads, fraying with each passing moment.

Now, the only person who occupied his thoughts, the one he cherished, was Chiara.

“Apologies, Ms. Jensen. Mr. Goodman is quite preoccupied today. In fact, he didn’t even make it to the office,” Paul replied, his tone steady despite the tension.

Elaine’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, her curiosity piqued. “If he didn’t go to the office, then where on earth is he?”

Paul had anticipated her question, his chin lifting slightly as a smug smile crept onto his face.

“Well, it seems Mr. Goodman recently had a custom wedding dress delivered. It arrived just a couple of days ago, and today, he’s out with his wife, capturing some new wedding photos. I’m afraid, Ms. Jensen, but he simply doesn’t have the time to come to the airport today,” he explained, his tone dripping with a mix of amusement and disdain.

Elaine’s expression morphed into one of fury and disbelief, her eyes narrowing as she stepped forward, her voice rising. “Don’t feed me that nonsense. You’re just trying to pull a fast one on me, aren’t you?”

Paul remained unflappable, his demeanor calm despite her escalating anger. He was no stranger to women’s tempers; he wasn’t about to be intimidated.

He maintained that insufferable smile. “Why would I lie? I’ve always been upfront with you regarding Mr. Goodman’s schedule. Come on, Ms. Jensen, that’s a bit harsh, don’t you think?”

Elaine’s face contorted in rage, her features almost animalistic as the reality of the situation sank in.

Was Titus truly that enamored with Chiara now? The thought struck her like a bolt of lightning, leaving her momentarily stunned. ‘Seriously? A custom wedding dress, and he’s even taking her for a new photo shoot?’

Sharon, sensing the brewing storm, quickly intervened, grasping Elaine’s arm with urgency. “Elaine, don’t listen to him. He’s just trying to mess with your head,” she urged, her voice a mix of concern and authority.

Paul had made his point and was ready to move on.

“Ms. Jensen, Mr. Goodman has already arranged everything with the Royal Ballet. Someone will be there to pick you up when you land. Wishing you safe travels, and may your career truly soar. Goodbye,” he stated flatly, turning on his heel to leave.

Three years of nurturing this fragile dream. There was no way Sharon was going to let all that effort slip away into oblivion.

“Elaine, please, just take a moment to breathe and hear me out,” Sharon urged, her voice steady despite the turmoil surrounding them.

“We need to think long-term here. You can’t keep reacting like this. Mr. Goodman will only continue to shut you out. We must follow his lead and get out of Halinston for now. You have to show him that you’ve changed, that you’re not the same stubborn person he once knew. I genuinely believe that in a couple of years, once you’ve made a name for yourself, he’ll start to see you differently,” she explained, her conviction unwavering.

Elaine’s gaze remained fixed on the spot where Paul had disappeared, her mind swirling with uncertainty and doubt.

“Is that even feasible? Two years… that feels like an eternity. What if he forgets me? What if he genuinely falls for Chiara? Will I even have a chance then?” Elaine’s heart was a tangled mess of fear and hope.

Sharon, holding back her growing impatience, spoke softly, “Elaine, Mr. Goodman hasn’t truly loved his wife in these past three years. Why would he suddenly develop feelings now?”

Elaine’s grip tightened on Sharon’s arm, a spark of realization igniting within her. She stared at Sharon, her eyes aflame with urgency.

“Sharon, what do you mean? What exactly are you implying?” Elaine demanded, a sense of urgency lacing her words.

Sharon gritted her teeth against the discomfort but maintained a soothing tone. “Men, Elaine, they are often drawn to something new. Mr. Goodman is merely captivated for the moment. If Chiara were truly exceptional, why hasn’t she managed to win his heart after all this time?”

“So what you’re suggesting is…” Elaine pressed, her mind racing with possibilities.
