Nanson then realized the person crying was Sherilyn's young assistant. The girl's face was pale, and from her tone, it was clear she had made a terrible mistake. "What's wrong?" Nanson asked, then glanced down at Sherilyn. "Don't you have an event today?"
"I do," Sherilyn replied, her brow furrowed with worry. "We were about to leave, but we've run into a problem." Although the event was for promoting her new show, it was also a major public appearance for her. As such, the outfit she was supposed to wear had been provided by a brand she was working with. Blake had recently negotiated a "friend of the brand" partnership for her, but they were still in a trial period. Whether the partnership would continue or lead to a better title depended on how this period went. In other words, what Sherilyn wore today was part of her job. But when she had asked her assistant, Naomi, to get the dress, they discovered that the suitcase containing the brand's outfit was missing.
"Waaaah..." Naomi sobbed. As the assistant, looking after their belongings was her responsibility. She had messed up badly. Her eyes were already swollen from crying. "Sherilyn, it's all my fault..."
"Stop crying," Candida said, her tone more pragmatic than scolding. "Crying won't solve anything." But at her words, Naomi only cried harder, trying to stifle her sobs so she wouldn't upset Sherilyn further.
"Candida," Sherilyn said softly, shaking her head. The situation was what it was; blame and panic were useless. With just over two hours until the event, they needed to find a solution, and fast. "Alright, here's the plan," Sherilyn said after a moment's thought, turning to Candida. "Contact the hotel's front desk and the airport. See if there's any chance of finding the suitcase."
"Okay," Candida nodded. "I'll do it right now." She quickly left the room.
