Wolfless? No! Call Me Alpha Commander! novel Chapter 502

Chapter 502 Ambush

It was already evening, and the winter sky had darkened quickly.

Before the guards even noticed Thora and her team, they were shot down on the spot.

The door was pushed open, and Thora walked straight .

The room was dim, lit only by an old oil lamp that gave off a faint glow.

Tristan followed closely behind, alert to any movement around them.

Thora frowned slightly. The room was unusually quiet. There was no sound of machinery at all. It was empty and ordinary.

Snacks and comic books were scattered across the table along with several anime figurines. It clearly looked like a little boy’s room.

On the desk, a small head was resting face down.

Tristan immediately tightened his grip on his gun. The faint metallic sound startled the figure.

The little boy stirred awake, rubbing his sleepy eyes. He stretched lazily, then slowly turned around to look at Thora and Tristan.

Tristan was about to raise his gun, but Thora lifted her hand and pressed it down.

The boy, sitting in his chair, looked at them in confusion. When his gaze landed on the gun in Tristan’s hand, his eyes dimmed slightly. “Am I useless now? So, did Marka send you to take me to the place with the devil?” His voice was soft, tinged with sadness, fear, and worry he couldn’t hide.

The boy looked no more than five or six years old. His skin was pale, his brown hair soft and fluffy, and his delicate features made him look like a doll.

But his body was thin and frail, clearly malnourished, and his complexion was pale.

Tristan’s expression changed. He glanced at Thora instinctively and noticed her eyes were softer than usual.

He suddenly remembered something she had said more than a year ago when dealing with family matters. War should not reach children, and grudges should not extend to the next generation.

Even though she was cold and ruthless most of the time she always showed a different kind of gentleness toward children.

“What is Marka to you?” Thora asked, her tone gentler than before.

Elmer Townsend looked at her curiously and asked in a small voice, “I’ve never seen you before. Can you?” There was a hint of hesitation in his words, but no real caution. He seemed fragile, like he could blown over by the wind.

Thora gazed into his clear eyes for a moment, then allowed a faint smile. “You can.”

Elmer immediately smiled, his eyes curving. “My name is Elmer Townsend. Marka is my uncle.”

Thora looked around the room and finally focused on the bills on the table. Something flickered in her

eyes.

She stepped forward, picked up the bills, and continued “Where are your parents?”

Elmer did not stop her. He lowered his head and answered seriously, “Marka said the devil took them away, and they would never come back. He said if I didn’t listen, he would send me to the devil too.” His voice grew softer, filled with sorrow.

Tristan’s heart tightened. He understood instantly. Marka had clearly killed Elmer’s parents and then used a child’s deepest fear to control him.

But why would Marka go to such lengths to control a five or six-year-old child?

Thora examined the bill in her hand and then looked a Elmer. “Can you make me another one exactly like this?”

Tristan felt confused at first, but as he connected the earlier conversation with the room’s appearance and Thora’s question, he suddenly had a vague guess.

Elmer reached out his small hand and took one of the bills from Thora. “This one is the real one,” he said seriously.

Thora did not respond. Elmer held the genuine bill tightly in his left hand and slowly closed his eyes.

A faint white ripple of ability energy seeped from his small body.

Thora’s brows tightened, her eyes locked on his hand.

Tristan’s expression changed as well. He clearly saw the fluctuation of ability energy.

The ripple grew stronger and stronger, intensifying until it reached a peak and then stabilized.

In the next second, another bill appeared in Elmer’s left hand at a speed visible to the naked eye, identical to the real one he was holding.

Even though Tristan had suspected it, he was still shocked.

Thora’s expression grew more serious. It was exactly as she had predicted.

“Marka said it had to be more realistic. But this batch… even making one is so tiring. Sir, can you tell Marka I can’t make many more? I’m really tired.” Elmer looked up at Thora. The light in his beautiful eyes was dim, lacking the liveliness a child his age should have.

Thora slowly crouched down and studied him carefully

He was too young to have awakened his wolf spirit, yet he had awakened a replication ability. That w he could create near-perfect counterfeit bills.

Replication abilities consumed tremendous mental energy. The large amount of counterfeit money Ma had circulated before had been produced at the cost of this child’s life force.

Now that the counterfeit bills were even more realistic, meant Elmer’s ability was evolving. But that also meant his mental energy consumption had multiplied.

His body was already on the verge of collapse.

Thora reached out and gently touched his cheek. His skin felt cold, and she could almost feel the sharpness
