Reborn to Burn Them All novel Chapter 104

Chapter 104

When Sophia saw him, she muttered, Guardian.

Sophia locked eyes with the man. For a few tense seconds, neither of them looked away

No vehicles passed by this time. Sophia watched as the man pressed a button on his wheelchair, turning it slowly around. Moments later, a black cat pulled up and picked him up.

Noticing Sophia staring across the street as if muttering something, Dorian asked, Sophia, what were you just saying?

Sophia glanced at the license plate and lowered her gaze to the pavement. Nothing. I’m just tired. I need to go home and rest.

Noticing Sophia was feeling down, Dorian asked tentatively, How about coming over to my place for dinner? Our chef’s cooking is absolutely amazing

Sophia glanced at him and said, Maybe next time.

Maelis wanted to leave with them, but since they were heading in different directions, she could only watch helplessly as Sophia and Dorian got into the

same car.

Maelis, feeling indignant, pulled out her phone and called Frank. Dad, t want to move into Serene Estate,” she demanded.

Frank was confused. Which Serene Estate?

Maelis planted a hand on her hip, puffing out her cheeks in annoyance as she watched the car disappear around the corner. I’m talking about Serene Estate on Crimson Avenue.

Frank asked unhurriedly, Why the sudden urge to move there? Is Jerome going to live there?

Maelis snorted. It has nothing to do with that bastard. It’s Sophia. I want to live with her.

Frank was surprised. Wait, do you want to move in with Sophia? Did she say yes to this?

Maelis rolled her eyes and said, I just want to be her neighbor, not her roommate. If she’s ever up for living together, I wouldn’t mind that.

I see.Frank said thoughtfully, I don’t recall if we own a place there. I’ll check with your mom later.

Dad, ask her right now!Maelis insisted, sounding anxious.

Frank sighed. Alright, I’ll ask your mom right now. As long as it’s not for Jerome, you can do whatever you want. Even if we don’t have a place at Serene Estate, I’ll figure out a way to get you one, okay?

Maelis finally smiled. Thanks, Dad. I love you.

After Sophia came back to the Chandler residence, she shut herself in her room and flopped onto the bed.

Her injured finger, left untreated, was swollen. The wound from the mirror gaped open, and the flesh turned outward, exposing raw, bloody tissue.

Sophia lay motionless as if numb to the pain, maintaining the same position to evening. Only when her stomach growled did she finally stir, struggling t

get up.

Dragging herself downstairs, she grabbed some food and treated her injured finger quickly. Then she went straight back to her room to lie down again.

She thought she wouldn’t be able to sleep, and even if she did, nightmares would always come. Yet as the nightmares began to creep in, a distant sounc emergedlike the tireless murmur of a stream.

Chapter 104

Just like the last time she had a nightmare, that sound swept over her like a gentle breeze through the forest, soothing her tensa mga an the fear.

The nightmares soon faded away, and Sophia finally drifted into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Jonathan and Heather finally got the chance to sit down and talk things over property

Jonathan comforted her. Don’t worry, Heather. Howard will be fine. I’ll spare no effort to get him the best treatment. If we can’t cure him here, we’ll go abroad.

Heather had been crying nonstop since she woke up, her swollen eyes flashing with venomous fury.

She said, You can’t let the person who hurt Howard off the hook. I don’t care what excuses she has. Since she seriously injured my son, she should go to jail. I want her to get the punishment she deserves.

Jonathan gently put his arm around her shoulders. I’ll handle this, so don’t worry. Right now, the most important thing is for you to take care of yourself. Howard still needs us.

Heather couldn’t help but burst into tears again at the mention of Howard. Seeing this, Jonathan held her tightly.

Because of Howard’s situation, they put aside their grudges. However, before even five minutes of warmth had passed, Jonathan tentatively said, Heather, I think Wilbur-

Heather didn’t make a scene this time. She just closed her eyes, thinking, It seems there is no escaping it

Now she was calm to the point of feeling disappointed inside. Suddenly, she remembered what Sophia had said.

Sophia said that no matter how much she suffered, she couldn’t change the fact that Jonathan had an illegitimate child who might inherit part of his fortune. And if she fell out with him, she might end up with nothing.

The scene she made during the day was just her way of letting off steam.

Seeing her remain silent, Jonathan hurriedly added, Heather, I promise he won’t come near you if you don’t want to see him.

He very capable though. I kept him around just to help Sean out. You have my word. I won’t leave him a single dollar.

Heather turned away. I need some time to think about this.”

Seeing she wasn’t resisting anymore, Jonathan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Although the idea came from Sophia, it worked, so he felt the beating wa

worth it.

Sophia woke naturally the next morning. She lingered in bed for ten minutes before getting up. As she went downstairs, the house staff kept a distance -from her, looking both fearful and uneasy, not daring to meet her eyes.

Sophia had no intention of getting close to them. She thought as long as they did their jobs properly, that was enough. She wouldn’t take out her

frustrations on them.

Someone busy in the kitchen stammered timidly, MMs. Sophia Chandler, what would you like to eat?

Sophia propped her chin lazily on her uninjured hand. Just bring me whatever to eat.

Sophia!Yvette’s furious voice cut through from the doorway. Why do you always have to steal other people’s things? Do you get some kind of thrill o

of this?

Although Sophia had no idea what she was ranting about, she knew it couldn’t be anything good. With a smirk, she said, If

that’s the thrill.
