Reborn to Burn Them All novel Chapter 112

Chapter 112

The smile vanished from Sophia’s face, replaced by icy coldness: You’re nothing but trash, she spat.

The tattooed man froze for a beat. The hell did you just say?

A smirk crept back onto Sophia’s face. She enunciated each word. I. Said. You. Are. Trash.”

You’re dead!the tattooed man snarled, raising his fist to strike at Sophia.

Seeing this, Dorian pointed at the tattooed man and ordered his bodyguards, Take him down.” One bodyguard stayed behind to protect Dorian, while the other rushed forward and swiftly pinned the tattooed man to the ground.

The tattooed man hadn’t expected Sophia to have bodyguards with her. He struggled desperately, trying to break free. Snarling at her, he shouted, Sophia, you bitch! I’ll make you pay for this!

Sophia flashed a faint smile and said, I know. That’s why I have no intention of letting you off the hook. Then she looked at Dorian and added, Looks like we’re heading back to the police station again.

Dorian’s eyes gleamed with mischief. No problem, I’ve got nothing better to do anyway.

The bodyguard behind him quietly advised, Sir, this man hasn’t actually harmed Ms. Chandler. Taking him to the police likely won’t amount to much.

Dorian shrugged. Told you, I’m free.He had no clue what Sophia was s planning, but he knew tagging along with her meant frontrow seats to the juiciest dranta.

The bodyguard dragged the tattooed man along with Sophia to the police station under Charlotte’s jurisdiction.

Hey Charlotte, I’m here to help you boost your stats,Sophia said with a playful grin as she walked in, just in time to see Charlotte coming out of her office with a mug in hand.

Charlotte strode over briskly, eyeing the tattooed man pinned down by the bodyguard. What’s going on here?she demanded.

The two bodyguards and Dorian all turned to stare at Sophia in unison.

Sophia shrugged and said with a grin, Saw a fugitive on the road, so I just brought him in.

Bodyguards were stunned that Sophia was lying through her teeth.

Dorian, taken aback, blurted out, A fugitive?

Hearing the word fugitive,Charlotte immediately set down her mug and strode over to the tattooed man. She scrutinized him with a frown, but couldn’t identify anything suspicious.

The tattooed man sneered, his face twisted in mockery and disdain.

Sophia coolly slipped her hands into her pockets. Charlotte, remember the home invasion case from three years ago?

Charlotte fixed Sophia with a grave, solemn stare.

Dorian glanced between Charlotte and Sophia, thoroughly puzzled.

Sophia continued, That case is still unsolved because there were no surveillance cameras near the elderly recluse’s home. The police checked everyone

in the neighborhood but found no leads. They even tried tracing the stolen items.

She paused, then added with a hint of sarcasm, But since none of it ever surfaced on the black market, no wonder you hit a dead end.

As soon as Sophia spoke, the tattooed man’s head drooped.

Charlotte frowned. Wait, you mean..

Sophia said coolly, Those things are at his place right now, hidden in a secret compartment in his closet.

The tattooed man’s head snapped up, his face twisted in shock as he stared at Sophia. In the next instant, panic took over. He thrashed violently against the bodyguardsgrip, desperate to break free and make a run for it.

Seeing this, Charlotte swiftly delivered a sweeping kick that sent the tattooed man crashing to the ground. She pinned him down and snapped the handcuffs around his wrists.

The tattooed man thrashed wildly, his face flushed crimson and veins bulging on his neck as he shrieked hysterically, Let me go! I didn’t kill him! It wasn’t me. I just took some of his stuff, I swear I didn’t kill him!

Charlotte smacked the tattooed man hard on the head. You shoved a seventyyearold man down the stairs, and you call that not killing?

The tattooed man protested desperately, I didn’t push him! He fell down by himself!

Charlotte cuffed the man and handed him over to her colleague. Sophia, thank you,she said sincerely. We wouldn’t have cracked this case without your help.

Charlotte’s emotions were in turmoil.

Three years ago, an elderly man living alone was robbed in his home and found dead at the bottom of the stairs, his body already stiff. The police combed through the neighborhood but found no leads. Turned out the culprit was a stranger.

Sophia grinned, Told you I was here to boost your stats. You’ve got work to do. I’ll head out now.

As they left the police station, Dorian’s curiosity about Sophia soared. He looked at her with wide eyes and gushed, Sophia, you’re seriously amazing.

Sophia smirked enigmatically at him. Like I said, people who cross me never end well. I’m petty, vindictive, and I never forget a slight, so consider yourself warned.

Dorian blinked innocently. Sophia, you can’t scare me. Will you still let me tag along for the drama?

Sophia ruffled Dorian’s hair. Of course, three million dollars a month, remember?she said. She thought to herself, I won’t turn down easy money like that. Without a car, Sophia hitched a ride with Dorian back to the Chandler residence.

Dorian watched as Sophia stepped through the gates, his gaze lingering until she disappeared beyond the doorway.

The bodyguard looked worried and hesitated. Sir, Ms. Chandler

Dorian shot him a look. Don’t tell me you’re gonna snitch to Evander?

The bodyguard hesitated, then said quietly, Sir, I think Ms. Chandler is just too dangerous.

Dorian shrugged carelessly. Dangerous? Didn’t you hear what Sophia said? Just know your place, be sensibledon’t ask what you shouldn’t, and don’t mess with those you can’t afford to cross.

Just stay put and watch the drama. I’ve got a heart condition. I could drop dead any minute. If you’ve got a death wish, go ahead and try,he said with a look of disdain. You weren’t this cautious when you were watching the drama.”

The bodyguard lowered his head, speechless.

Every day, Sophia would swing by the hospital to check if Howard had regained consciousness.

After several days of viral spread, Howard/and his delusional stans were trending everywhere online, flooding every feed. Even people who’d never heard the name Howard before now knew exactly who he was.
