Chapter 153
Chapter 153
Seeing the way Sophia was staring at her, Heather hurriedly took out her phone. “30 thousand dollars a month. How about 60 thousand is that enough?
Sophis raised her chin and nodded nonchalantly.
After making sure that she got the money Heather promised, Sophia grabbed her suitcase and walked out without a second glance.
Heather watched as Sophia left and said anxiously, “Your father didn’t come home again last night. I called and texted him, but he didn’t respond.
“I even checked the apartment near his company but couldn’t find him. Sean didn’t know where he was either. Do you think he might have gone to see that illegitimate child of his?”
Sophia rolled her eyes in exasperation. “How am I supposed to know? Don’t ask me. Go figure it out yourself.
“Look at those dark circles and your face. No matter how hard you try, you can’t hide how worn out you look. It’s pathetic to wreck yourself for a man.”
Seeing her so disappointed, Heather somehow relaxed a little.
Sophia continued coldly, “You chose this, and you’ll have to live with it. No one can help you. Honestly, you two are made for each other.”
With that, Sophia took her suitcase and strode out without looking back.
Heather watched her walk away with a cold resolve, suddenly feeling overwhelmed and lost, and she cried. “Did I make the wrong choice?”
She thought, ‘We’ve been married for almost thirty years. How can I just let go? Maybe Sophia is right. This is my choice, so I have to live with it.
‘I spent thirty years and still couldn’t win Jonathan’s heart or become the woman he loves most. It’s just so frustrating‘
Since Sophia easily got 60 thousand and roasted Heather hard, she happily hopped on a bus to school.
After thinking for a while, she sent Wilbur a message. [Keep an eye on Heather. She might cause trouble for you and Luna.]
Wilbur: [Well, she just won’t give up, will she?]
A sarcastic smile tugged at the corner of Sophia’s lips. She thought “Give up? Heather would rather die first.’
Sophia: [If she messes with you again, go straight to Jonathan. They ruined your mother’s life, and you should hate them and try everything to get back at them.]
Wilbur didn’t say anything.
Sophia: [Oh come on, don’t tell me you’re still holding out hope for Jonathan, Just forget about him, Wilbur. I’m not letting you waver.]
Sophia: [If I ever find out, I’d rather kill you myself than let you turn traitor. Just focus on your work at Samuel Capital and stay out of trouble.]
Wilbur could practically imagine Sophia’s domineering and angry expression through the text. He sighed and texted back. [I won’t betray you. I’m just not ready yet.]
Sophia: [What are you getting ready for? You’re working at Samuel Capital, and sooner or later, he’ll find out. You’re here for revenge, okay? Stop hesitating.]
Wilbur had grown accustomed to her tone, so he wasn’t mad at all. [Okay. I’ll do as you said, Ms. Chandler.]
Sophia pursed her lips at his reply, barely satisfied.

Chapter 153
As soon as Sophia arrived at Jelasburg University, she got out of the car and received a call, She didn’t recognize the number tune the
She pulled her suitcase forward and approached a step. Without breaking a sweat, she effortlessly lifted it with one hand and stepped up.
Her phone rang again. Sophia set down her suitcase and asked angrily, “Who is this?”
Hearing Sophia’s impatient tone, the caller seemed momentarily stunned and paused for several seconds.
Just as Sophia was about to hang up and block the number, the caller finally said, “Sophia, I just wanted to check whether you have come up with a solution yet.”
It was Blake, burning with rage because of Lucy’s betrayal.
Sophia froze for a second. She had already long forgotten about it.
Sophia tried to keep calm and said, “The easiest way to divorce Lucy is to threaten your son with the inheritance and send him to talk to her.”
“As for that man who has an affair with her” Sophia paused and said, “Just call the police.”
Blake was utterly dumbfounded. “What?”
Sophia stepped up the stairs and said, “Yeah, report him to the police as
a scammer who uses his looks to deceive old ladies.
“Tell the police that he has a social media account with millions of followers and that countless old ladies have fallen for his scams, with total losses reaching millions of dollars. You’re doing the right thing.”
Blake, who went through the same thing, fell silent. His only goal from the very beginning was to send Tristan to prison and force a divorce from Lucy.
Blake felt a sudden surge of excitement. He suddenly realized the 23 million dollars was well worth it.
He said, “Sophia, you’re truly amazing. You have my word. Once this is all sorted out, I’ll introduce plenty of clients to you.”
Sophia thought, ‘What? Is he serious?‘
Sophia felt conflicted yet kept a straight face. She had a sneaking suspicion that her business was about to get much busier.
She was really just in it for the drama, but she figured that if every client was as generous as Blake, she could grit her teeth and take the job.
Just then, an apple rolled down the steps and came to a stop at Sophia’s feet. A girl named Peggy Lewis hurried down the steps to pick it up.
“Sorry about that.” Peggy picked up the apple and straightened up, offering an apologetic smile. However, when her eyes landed on Sophia’s face, she froze in shock. “Sophia Chandler?”
Sophia gave her a curt nod, slipped her phone back into her pocket, and turned to get her suitcase.
Peggy held the apple and followed Sophia up the steps, where two large bags sat stuffed to the brim. One of the bags had a tear at the bottom, and that was where the apples fell out from.
Struggling to carry two large bags, Peggy trailed behind Sophia into the dormitory building. They entered the elevator, and she pressed the button for the sixth floor.
Afraid Sophia might mistake her for some pervert, Peggy quickly explained, “I live in Room 605.”
Sophia nodded, not bothering to say a word.
The elevator held only the two of them. Peggy moved bags against the wall, putting as much distance between herself and Sophia as the small space
allowed.
She wiped the sweat from her face, but her eyes sparkled with intensity. It was a blazing mix of hope and determination for her future life on campus.
