Chapter 165
Still not looking at her phone, Sophia said, “No need. We are from different departments”
Diana bit her lip and quickly smiled. “Nadia, let me add you.”
Noticing Sophia hadn’t added Diana, Nadia wasn’t interested. “We’re in different departments, too,” she said. “the group chat is enough—just pod updates there.”
“And why didn’t you add Peggy to the group chat?” Nadia asked.
Diana looked at Peggy, who was busy wiping her bed and desk. She shrugged casually. “I saw she was busy, so I’ll add her later.
Peggy didn’t care about the group chat. But Diana’s attitude was strange.
Since Sophia and Nadia were both locals, Diana wanted to be friends with them. Peggy understood that.
Seeing that Sophia and Nadia weren’t interested, Diana turned to Peggy and asked, “Where are you from? I’m from Norhaven.”
Peggy said, “I’m from Halcyon.”
Diana looked surprised. “Halcyon? Aren’t the people there pretty wealthy?” She paused, glancing at Peggy’s simple outfit.
Peggy smiled but didn’t say anything. Seeing how friendly she was, Diana kept asking questions, sometimes bothering Sophia and Nadia too.
Actually, Diana was trying to learn about their families.
Diana said, “Sophia, Nadia, since Peggy and I are both new here, want to show us around?”
Getting annoyed, Sophia had put on her headphones and was just accepting friend requests from those who needed her help. Nadia looked at her. Sophia suddenly stood up, startling everyone.
Sophia looked at Diana. “Not interested,” she said flatly, stopping what Nadia was about to say.
Diana smiled, pretending to be nice. Frustrated by all the talking, Sophia grabbed her laptop and lay down on her bed.
Early the next morning, Sophia got calls from Wilbur and Jonathan/Wilbur said, “Ms. Chandler, someone caused trouble at the cafe. I called Jonathan–l was so mad I said some harsh words, and now we’re not talking.”
Sophia leaned on the balcony, watching people walk below. She asked, “So, how did it feel? Pretty good, huh?”
Wilbur said, “He knows I work at Samuel Capital. He asked who my boss was. I kept quiet.”
Sophia said, “Good job. When our company gets bigger, I’ll make sure you get paid.”
Wilbur took a deep breath. “Ms. Chandler, what are you really planning?”
Sophia smirked. “My plan is to make Jonathan fail over and over–and watch the Chandler Group fall apart in his hands.”
Then she changed the subject. “The Lynn Group is/almost finished. Get a market value–if it makes money, buy them. Go all out; I have money.”
Wilbur looked surprised. “The Lynn Group?”
Sophia said, “Yes, the one I nearly bankrupted. Next, we’re coming for the Bennett Group.”
Wilbur wiped his face in disbelief and thought, ‘Buying the Lynn Group and the Bennett Group? Aren’t you worried about the risks?‘
Sophia said, “Move quickly! We can’t miss it.”

Chapter 165
Wilbur was cut off as Sophia hung up.
Right after, Jonathan called. “Sophia,” he said, sounding drained.
“Jonathan,” Sophia said sarcastically, “did you finally remember you haven’t sent me my allowance?”
A heavy feeling sank in Jonathan. “There’s a party at the Moore family tonight. Come with me.”
Sophia refused instantly. “No way. Unless you pay me first.”
He sighed again. “Fine.”
Besides that fee, the dress and jewelry cost extra. Thinking of the party, Sophia smiled slyly. ‘Tonight should be interesting, she thought
She called Nadia over.
Nadia hurried to her. Sophia asked, “Did you hear? The Moore family is having a party tonight.”
Nadia shook her head. Sophia grinned. “Want to
Might be fun to watch.”
Nadia didn’t want to go, but since Sophia invited her, she couldn’t refuse. “Okay, I’ll come,” she said.
When Jonathan sent a driver for Sophia, she took Nadia with her. They went to get their hair and makeup done and changed into evening dresses
The car stopped outside the Moore residence, where a row of fancy cars lined the driveway–though few guests were there. Jonathan, dressed in a black suit, stood at the door. He was looking worried, with his phone to his ear.
“Hey, Jonathan,” Sophia called as she walked over.
He mumbled something, then hung up. Jonathan saw Nadi
next to her. “And you are?”
