Sophia raised her eyebrow, “Jonathan, what did you just call me?”
Jonathan was still confused. As he looked at Sophia, he thought of someone else. He kept shaking his head and muttering, quietly, “Don’t come altet me I didn’t mean to. Please let me go, Samuel.”
Heather grabbed him and shouted, “Jonathan, look at ine! It was just a bad dream–you were dreaming.”
With Heather’s calming words, Jonathan slowly settled down. Seeing Heather cover for him, Sophia sneered, “Jonathan, didn’t you just call me Samust”
Jonathan was slow to react. Worried he might say something wrong, Heather quickly said, “No, you must have heard wrong. Your dad just called you, Sophia.”
Sophia burst out laughing. “You really think you can trick me? Do I look thr

gullible to you?”
“Samuel.” The name suddenly slipped out Jonathan’s lips as he lay on the hospital bed. Heather froze, caught completely off guard.
Jonathan didn’t look at her, just stared at the ceiling. “I just called out Samuel. Samuel was my younger brother–your uncle…
Sophia let out a mysterious laugh.
Heather looked at Jonathan in shock. Jonathan subtly moved his fingers–a quiet sign of reassurance. He said, “Sophia, Samuel was your uncle. He died in an accident before you were born.
“The loss was too much for your grandpa to take–he got very sick. It wasn’t until he found out your mom was pregnant that he started to heal from losing his son.
“On the day you were born, your grandpa held you and cried. When you turned one year old, he also passed away.”
At this point, Jonathan got choked up, his eyes turning red. A single tear slid down his face. He shut his eyes tight, not wanting to remember those sad times.
Sophia sneered inside and thought, ‘He made up a cover story so fast.‘
Sophia said, “Jonathan, save the tears for later–first tell me what I want to know, then you can go back to mourning.”
Jonathan’s emotional moment was broken immediately by her words. She blinked her eyes and asked, “Why did I never find out I had an uncle? I always thought you were an only child.
“I have never seen my uncle’s photos. So, what terrible thing did he.do to be erased from our family history?”
Caught off guard by her question, Jonathan hesitated. Heather quickly said, “That’s only because your dad didn’t want to bring up that painful past–he was just trying to protect you, so he never told you.”
Sophia stayed silent, her face unreadable as she looked at them. The room got tense.
Suddenly, Sophia laughed. “Heather, I told you you’re not smart enough to fool me. Now you’re teaming up with Jonathan? Think your combined brains can beat me?”
Jonathan suddenly started coughing hard–maybe from anger or trying to hide something. His face turned red. Sophia just smirked and said, “Looks like you and my uncle were really close.”
Heather gently stroked Jonathan’s chest and said, “Of course–they’re brothers.”
Sophia’s eyes darkened.

Chapter 172
“Who would’ve thought I actually have an uncle.” Sophia laughed loudly. “I’m so happy now!”
Jonathan held his chest, speechless. Suddenly, Sophia’s laughter stopped. She looked sharply at Jonathan and said, “Jonathan, Thave something secret. to tell you.”
Jonathan’s forehead veins throbbed badly as he looked at Sophia with her cold, evil eyes. A chill ran down his spine. “W what secret?” he stammered.
“The secret is–Sophia suddenly turned her eyes to Heather, with a sneaky look.
Heather’s heart skipped a beat, her face turning pale. She gasped, “Sophia, didn’t you say your school has a curfew? It’s getting late. Let me find a ride to take you home now.”
This obvious interruption made Jonathan annoyed. Sophia spread her hands. “It’s exactly what you want to know, but Heather won’t let me tell you!
Heather froze, staring at Sophia in disbelief. Sophia smiled and leaned in to whisper in her ear, “Since you can’t decide, let me give you a little push–so you can see if Jonathan really deserves your love.
“Don’t worry. You’ve got five kids as your bargaining chips. Right now, what’s most important isn’t Jonathan’s love, but the Chandler family’s money. Once you get that, do you really think Jonathan would dare to leave?”
Heather stayed quiet and thought, ‘Damn it, I should be mad right now, but she makes sense.
