Chapter 21

Chapter 21

The moment Sophia showed up, the study went dead silent, Everyone looked awkward and guilty.

Sophia let out a cold laugh “So, you’ve all decided to kick me out, huh?”

For some reason, Jonathan couldn’t meet her eyes when she looked at him

Sean just frowned, a flash of disgust crossing his face, “You’re the one who caused this mess. You dragged us all down with you.”

Sophia raised an eyebrow. “And sol

Howard sneered. “You pissed people off and dragged us all into it. And you still want us to clean it up for you? Dream on.”

Sophia had never expected anything from the Cha

sily anyway. Getting kicked out didn’t really matter to her.

Back on her first cycle, something similar had happened. Aher Yvette had falsely accused her for the hundredth time, she had been thrown out of the

Chandler family

At the time, Sophia thought it was fine. She figured she could earn her own money and finish college. But she hadn’t expected that even after cutting ties, the Chandler family still wouldn’t leave her alone.

So this time, she wasn’t planning on going anywhere.

Seeing her stay silent, Howard looked pretty pleased with himself

Yvette wiped any tears while secretly feeling smug. ‘Sophia, you said it yourself. Don’t blame me!’

“Sophia,” Jonathan spoke up. “This time it’s serious. There’s really nothing we can do. If there was even a slim chance, I wouldn’t be doing this. You’re

my daughter. How could I

Suddenly, Jonathan thought about the past few days. It felt like Sophia, whom he had ignored for eighteen years, suddenly became vivid and real.

She was beautiful and smart. Maybe a little wild, but that was because they had neglected her.

Looking at her now, standing quietly at the door, all alone, her head bowed, Jonathan felt a rare pang of guilt.

“How about this?” he suggested. “I have a house near Jelasburg University. Why don’t you move there for now? Once all this blows over, you can come

hack”

Jonathan felt pretty good about his plan. After all, Sophia was supposed to attend Jelasburg University anyway.

“Dad, you can’t-“Howard started to protest.

Jonathan shot him a glare. “Shut up.”

Sean thought the plan was fine, so he stayed quiet.

Jonathan let out a breath of relief. “Good, it’s settled then.”

“You think it’s settled just because you said so?” Sophia lifted her eyes and looked straight at him. “I haven’t agreed yet.

Jonathan’s face stiffened.

Sean frowned, clearly annoyed. “Sophia, don’t be ungrateful”

Shut up, idiot,” Sophia snapped, not even bothering to look at him.

Wette, of course, had seen this coming. She quickly added fuel to the fire. “Sophia, Dad’s already done everything he can. If there was any he’d never do this

“He works so hard every day, and we can’t even help him, I feel so sorry about that,”

Wette’s words made Jonathan feel especially warm inside. He loved how sensible and sweet Yvette was–unlike Sophia, who was not only disabit

but had even hit him

Any he had left for Sophia instantly disappeared

“Look how touched they are,” Sophia mocked. “Since you’re so ‘considerate‘, why is it that you never actually do anything, just talk?”

She sneered. “You’re all so busy planning to kick me out behind my back, but not one of you thought to ask me how I feel!”

Howard glared at her, furious but too scared to lash out. “Well, you’re here now, aren’t you?”

“Sophia, who do you think you are?” Howard snapped, clearly not buying it. “You think you can just say ‘problem solved” and everyone has to believe you?”

As a celebrity himself, Howard knew all too well how common baseless rumors could be in the entertainment world. Sophia being blacklisted by the entire internet wasn’t something that could be fixed so easily.

“Believe it or not, idiot,” Sophia said carelessly, yawning as she turned to leave

She was about to walk away when Yvette blocked ber path. “Sophia, did you really fix it?” Yvette asked, pretending to care while her eyes gleamed with

disdain.

Yvette froze in place. She had no idea how Sophia had known about Kevin.

A strange, uneasy feeling suddenly rose in Wette’s chest. Her heart skipped a beat.

She quickly pulled out her phone, only to find that all those vicious comments about Sophia had vanished. Instead, there were posts from clickbuit accounts apologizing, deleting posts, or outright shutting down.

The more she scrolled, the colder her face grew.

Jonathan snapped back to his senses. “Really?” he asked.

The secretary sounded almost cheerful. “Yes sir. The clickbait accounts that spread the rumors have either issued public apologies or deleted their accounts entirely. They’re all tended.”
