Reborn to Burn Them All novel Chapter 22

Chapter 22

The shady clickbait operators and trolls had long crossed moral lines. For the sake of money, there was nothing they wouldn’t do trampling the law

included

But none of them ever imagined that one day, they would be facing fall time because of an eighteen year old girl who had just finished her SATS.

Apologizing or deleting their accounts was useless now, by a desperate bid for mercy, the clickball operators and trolls started exposing the people who had hired them to smear Sophia, hoping she might go easy on them.

But Sophia had already made it clear–she would not accept any apologies. And she was absolutely, mercilessly firm.

My God, who could be so vile? Sophia is a top scorer among STEM students, Slandering her like this is disgusting.

[How could they stoop so low against a girl who just became an adult? Not only did they attack her character, they even spread obscene rumors. Outrageous.]

How much do you have to hate someone to do this? It’s like she killed their entire family.

This has to be investigated thoroughly

Sophia herself had already uncovered the masterminds behind it alt: The Lynn family and the Foley family had hired those clickbait accounts and trolls And she knew that Kevin had been the one pulling the strings.

To repay him in kind, Sophia had already prepared a “special git for Kevin–whether he could handle it or not was another matter

Sophia also anonymously sent copies of her academic records–years of straight A report cards–to the media, Once those were made public, the media would naturally help her clear her name.

The scandal grow too big to contain. It wasn’t just viral on the internet–even the police were alerted.

Early in the morning, Sophia was awakened by a maid. She was told that there was a police officer who wanted to see her. It was that same beautiful

young woman from before.

“Officer, what brings you here?” Sophis came downstairs in a loose, oversized pajama set, her hair a little messy. Still gropry from lack of sleep, she had

faint dark circles under her eyes.

“Ms. Chandler, I’m sorry that you suffered online abuse because we failed to handle the situation properly, the officer, Charlotte Grant, said solemnly.

She placed a small gift she’d brought on the coffee table. Thinking that Sophia’s exhaustion was from the brutal cyberbullying, guilt and frustration filled

Charlotte’s heart.

Sophia instantly understood Charlotte’s purpose in coming in a flash, she forced herself to fully wake up.

“You have a lot on your plate. No one could have predicted they’d go this far. It’s not your fault,” Sophia said, her head slightly bowed, her voice weary. Despite her obvious exhaustion, she still mustered a fragile smile.

Charlotte was at a loss for words. She hadn’t expected that such a beautiful, talented, and seemingly gentle girl could have been slandered so vicinaly

online.

At least the issue was now resolved. Charlotte had just wanted to check on Sophia, and seeing her relatively okay was a relief.

As she prepared to leave, they exchanged contact information. “If you ever have a problem,” Charlotte said, “you can call me anytime.”

Sophia nodded. “Thank you, Officer.

Charlotte smiled. “You can just call me Charlotte.”

“Alright, Charlotte,” Sophia returned the smile “Goodbye”

It wasn’t until Charlotte’s car disappeared around the corner that Sophia dropped her sweet, obediant façade, revealing eyes that were cold and unreadable.

No one would ever guess that Charlotte, the only granddaughter of the powerful Grant family, was working as a mere patrol officer. Sophia decided she would seize this opportunity and make Charlotte part of her own network.

Meanwhile, after getting Ingrid’s call, Yvonne rushed to a coffee shop

Ingrid said, “From now on, I don’t owe you anything”

Ingrid, sounding impatient, replied, “Isn’t that enough? I already told you he’s my idol. I can’t believe you actually hate such a perfect gay”

I wasn’t badmouthing him. He has nothing but a pretty face, and that’s the only reason you like him,” she argued. “I never minded you being a fan, but I really don’t get what’s so great about him.”

Yignne admitted Howard was good looking, but after looking into him, she realized he had no real qualities besides his face,

“I’ve seen the rumors about Sophia online, but there’s no solid evidence. if she’s really so awful, why is this just coming out now?” Yvonne said. “I don’t know Sophia, but I believe this will turn around.”

Right in front of Yvonne, Ingrid deleted her contact info and walked away.

Yvonne watched her leave, feeling heartbroken. Unable to hold back, she slumped onto the table and cried.

The Lynn family and the Foley family were betraged by the clickbait operators and trolls. They had gone to James, knowing that Sophia wouldn’t accept an apology, so they were left with no choice but to turn to Jonathan.
