It all happened so fast that no one had time to react. Monica stormed in, grabbed Yvette by the hair, and slapped her hard across the face,
Monica said, “This is all your fault. You ruined us, ruined the Sampson family. And now you think you can just walk away? Dream on!”
The blows left Yvette completely stunned. Her ears were ringing so loudly she couldn’t even think straight, let alone fight back.
Howard was the quickest to respond. He rushed forward, shoved Monica aside, and pulled Yvette into his arms. He shouted, “Are you insane?” Then he swept over the crowd and said, “What’s wrong with all of you? Get this lunatic out of here, now!”
Monica fell to the ground but started laughing hysterically. Her bloodshot eyes burned with hatred as she pointed at Yvette. She said, “You call me crazy? I raised Yvette for over ten years, and now you’re calling me crazy?
“If it weren’t for Yvette sticking her nose into Kevin’s relationship, the Sampson family wouldn’t have gone bankrupt. We wouldn’t be in this mess. She’s nothing but a homewrecker, a curse, a walking disaster!
“Listen up, Howard. The Sampson family may be ruined, but Yvette won’t get off easy. She’ll never escape me, not in this lifetime!”
Mike had been taken away for several days now, and the lawyer had warned Monica that the situation looked grim. The lawyer advised Monica to liquidate the company as soon as possible, as Mike was almost certainly facing prison time.
Monica had spent the past few days desperately trying to salvage the situation, but all her efforts were in vain. Those who had once been close to the Sampson family now avoided them like the plague.
With Mike’s imprisonment inevitable and the company undergoing liquidation, the Sampson family was officially bankrupt.
Monica recalled Rachel’s words: if it weren’t for Yvette, none of this would have happened. She heard Howard publicly declare that he had nothing to do with the Sampson family and was severing all ties with them in the livestream.
Watching Yvette thrive while her family fell apart was unbearable for Monica.
Yvette stepped out of Howard’s arms and looked at Monica. Her face was swollen and red, and her eyes brimmed with tears of grievance. She said, “Monica, how can you say that about me? I swear, I didn’t interfere with Kevin’s relationship. I really didn’t!”
Monica spat on the ground, her face twisted with disgust. She said, “Everyone, take a good look! This shameless vixen seduced my son! You’ve all seen the videos, the photos, the chat logs.
“You claim you didn’t interfere with Kevin’s relationship? Then why were you throwing yourself at him, telling him you missed him? Would you act like that with your brother? Go ahead, hug and kiss Howard like that.
“Stop pretending to be innocent when you’re the one who ruined everything. You’re nothing but a disgrace. Yvette, we Sampsons never treated you poorly.
“We raised you to be so accomplished, and this is how you repay us? You destroyed our family. Why? Why did you do this to us?” Monica broke down, wailing like her world had just collapsed.
Howard’s face darkened. He shouted, “Enough! Get her out of here!” He knew this wasn’t just a public scene; it was being live–streamed, He co already imagine the fallout if this segment went viral.
As expected, the comments on the livestream went crazy. One said: [This crazy woman is Yvette’s adoptive mom? The Sampson family is done for. What a mess.]
Another said: [Yvette’s so heartless. The Sampson family is ruined, and she’s still out there living her best life on TV. No shame at all.]
One chimed in: [No wonder Monica’s losing it. Yvette messed up Kevin’s relationship and dragged the whole Sampson family down.]
Someone said: [Blaming Yvette might be a bit of a stretch, but let’s face it. She’s the one at the heart of this mess.]

Chapter 43
A person, supposed to be Yvette’s fan, said: [Yvette didn’t do anything wrong. It’s all Monica’s fault. How dare she hit Yvette? Someone call the bada and throw Monica in jail to accompany her husband. They deserve it.)
Another chimed in: [Monica, that lunatic! Look at how furious Howard is. Howard, don’t hold back, teach her a lesson, We’re all behind you
Sophia slept in until 10 a.m. As she got up and headed to the bathroom, her foot slipped, and she fell hard. The back of her head hit the floor with a loud thud, making her see stars and feel a wave of dizziness.
She did all this because she hoped the Sampsons would go after Yvette. But she didn’t expect there was no room for her to maneuver.
