Chapter 45

Jackson thought he’d never encountered anyone as absurd as Sophia.

Staring at the phone in front of him, Jackson murmured in disbelief, “Sophia, you…”

Sophia cut Jackson off impatiently, “So, who the hell do you think you are?”

Jackson’s face darkened instantly, and he demanded, “What did you just say? Say that again!”

Sophia crossed her legs and tilted her chin up, saying, “Since we’re not close at all, why did you call me so intimately?”

Jackson’s expression was stormy. He could barely contain his.

anger.

Sophia waved her phone at Jackson, her tone sharp and commanding as she urged, “Hurry up. Don’t tell me you’re planning to weasel out of paying”

Jackson had never felt so humiliated. He pulled out his phone and asked, “How much?”

“60 thousand,” Sophia replied without hesitation.

Jackson froze. Then he let out a disbelieving sneer and asked, “60 thousand for these busted shoes? Are you insane?”

Sophia shrugged, completely unfazed. She stated, “If I say they’re worth it, then they are. Got a problem?”

Jackson snapped his phone shut, refusing to pay.

Sophia didn’t push Jackson. Instead, she leaned back and said nonchalantly, “Fine. If you don’t pay, I’ll just go have a chat with Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

Jackson glared at Sophia and said, “You think you can just go to my parents? You…”

Jackson wanted to curse, but the moment Sophia turned her gaze on him, a chill ran down his spine.

“Fine, you win,” Jackson spat through gritted teeth.

If this weren’t someone’s party, Jackson would’ve taught Sophia a lesson himself.

Jackson said in a tone dripping with malice, “Alright, I’ll pay–but only after you meet a few of my friends.”

Sophia put her phone away and said, “Just wait.”

Then Sophia started eating, completely unfazed, while Jackson sat there, simmering in frustration.

Jackson thought, ‘Fine. Let’s wait and see.’

Sophia ate at a steady pace, neither rushed nor slow. In less than ten minutes, she had polished off her plate.

She picked up her glass of lemonade and took a sip. Then she wiped her mouth gracefully, stood up, and slipped on her shoes.

“Lead the way,” Sophia commanded.

Jackson froze for a moment before blurting out, “Where to?”

Sophia tilted her chin slightly with an aloof expression. Her cold gaze carried a faint but undeniable arrogance.

At that moment, Jackson felt like nothing more than Sophia’s lackey.

Sophia lowered her eyes slightly, glancing at Jackson sideways with an unreadable look as she casually flexed her wrist. She said, “I’m bored anyway. Might as well meet your so–called ‘interesting friends.“”

Chapter 45

It was only then that Jackson remembered his plan. Afraid Sophia might change her mind, he quickly took the lead

Jackson said flatteringly, “We’re Howard’s friends, so that makes you our friend too.”

Sophia, of course, saw right through Jackson’s intentions.

Sophia thought, ‘These parties are dull anyway. But this is great fun for me. How could I miss it?”

Jackson led the way, with Sophia following behind in her sleek black gown. Her styled hair, glossy and dark, cascaded over her chest, framing her smooth, radiant forehead.

Sophia’s delicate features and indifferent gaze radiated elegance. She walked with perfect poise.

Sophia’s slender waist and long legs were accentuated by her high heels. Her languid, effortless grace perfectly embodied the image of a true lady making an entrance.

“We’re here,” Jackson announced, pushing open the door to a lounge.

The moment Sophia stepped inside, Jackson slammed the door shut and locked it.

As the door clicked shut, Jackson felt as if he were stepping into his domain.

Jackson clapped his hands and announced loudly, “Alright, buddies, meet Sophia, Howard’s little sister. She’s this year’s top scorer among STEM

students!”

Meanwhile, Sophia stood in the center, and all eyes turned to her.
