Chapter 65
Yandel slowly turned his head, staying quiet. Lately, strange images some new, some familiar flashed in his mind. One thing he knew for cure his family was wealthy.
Sophia clicked her tongue, a playful grin on her face. “I heard you forgot who you are. Lucky for you, I know.”
Yandel’s eyes narrowed. “What do you want?”
The innocent boy from moments before was gone, now a wary wolf waiting to pounce. His sharp gaze locked onto Sophia, suspicion pouring off him.
Sophia shrugged, keeping her tone light. “I’m a kind girl. I can you suffer.”
Yandel stared at her, disbelief and caution mixed together. He thought,
this shameless girl call herself kind?‘
Sophia said, “Mira saved your life. You should treat her well and care for her in her old age. That’s not asking too much, is it?”
Yandel was puzzled. “That’s all you want?”
Sophia nodded. “If you can, help Fortune Town too. I’ll deal with the developers.”
Even though she had kind of saved Yandel by accident, she worried if he would help Fortune Town like in the original story. After all, Yvette had the heroine’s luck, and she didn’t.
Yandel looked at her for a long time. “Even if you hadn’t said it, I would have done it.”
He thought, ‘She made sure I remembered my savior’s face, but she says she wants nothing?‘ His gut told him not to trust her.
But Sophia didn’t push more. Seeing he agreed, she turned to leave.
As she got to the door of the hospital room, she paused. Yandel’s eyes followed her, a cold smirk in his mind. He thought, ‘See? She isn’t going to miss this opportunity.‘
Sophia turned back, her words sharp. “Stay away from Yvette, or I’ll beat you up.”
Yandel thought, ‘Is she crazy?‘
As soon as Sophia stepped out of the hospital, she saw her car was wrecked: the tires were flat, and the windows were cracked from being smashed.
The car’s body had knife scratches, and someone had carved “Sophia, you’ll die a miserable death!” into the paint.
Sophia looked at the mess, excitement bubbling inside her. Instead of fear, she felt thrilled, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
She opened the trunk and pulled out a baseball bat, testing its weight with a few swings. “Let’s see what you’ve got. Bring it on,” she muttered, grinning.
Suddenly, she heard quick footsteps behind her, followed by a voice yelling, “Sophia, go to hell.”
Sophia sensed something flying at her. Without turning around, she swung the bat, sending the object flying back. It hit a girl, who cried out and fell down, yelling, “Sophia, you are mean. You’ll die a horrible death.”
Sophia looked at the girl on the ground. She seemed young, not even an adult, her face twisted in anger as she glared at Sophia.
The object was a water bottle filled with red paint. Now the girl was covered in it, her hair and clothes soaked, looking both pathetic and ridiculous.
Two other girls stood nearby, eyes blazing with hatred as if Sophia was a criminal. “Sophia, how dare you push Howard down the stairs. We won’t let this slide,” one shouted, her voice trembling with rage.

Sophia smirked. “So, you’re the ones who messed with my car, huh?”
One girl defiantly stuck her thin out. “Yeah, so what? This is just a little lesson for today. Next time, you won’t be so lucky?
Sophia looked at them with a hint of pity. “Wow, you really are clueless. It’s almost sad. I’m not letting you off easy”
With that, she pulled out her phone and called the police to report the damage to her car. The three girls froze in shock. “Y–You actually called the cops? one stammered. “We didn’t do anything. Do you think we’re scared of you?”
Sophia put her phone away, her tone dripping with mockery. “Oh, please. You scratched my car and let the air out of the tires. Calling the cops feels fair, doesn’t it?”
The girls exchanged panicked looks, unsure which way to run.
Sophia tapped the bat against her palm, the sound making the girls flinch. Anyone watching might think they were the victims.
“You can try to run,” Sophia said, her voice calm but threatening. “Security cameras are around, so when they catch you, it’ll just add to your problems.
Make a move.”
Her words nearly made the girls cry. “Sophia, you’re so cruel. I’ve never met anyone as mean as you,” one wailed.
“You pushed Howard down the stairs and now you’re calling the cops on us? You’re just bad. A total psycho. People like you will always get what they deserve,” another spat, shaking with anger.
Sophia didn’t get mad. Instead, she smirked. “Oh, absolutely. Everything you said is spot on.” She looked at them coldly.
Sophia added, “So, you better watch out. You know what I love most? Putting idiots like you in their place. I might just crack your heads open to see if all that’s inside is Howard.”
Her icy stare made the girls huddle together, heads bowed in fear.
When the police arrived, the first thing they saw was the trio trembling. The officer glanced at Sophia and frowned. “Who called?”
