Vicky felt a strange relief after saying that. She glanced at Sophia, her eyes silently begging for approval. Sophia noticed immediately.

After a pause, Sophia smiled and gave her a thumbs–up. “Well done, Mrs. Shelton.”

Feeling encouraged, Vicky moved closer. “Ms. Chandler, you seem to know a lot. Do you have any idea what kind of poison I might have been exposed to?”

“Why not just get checked at the hospital?” Sophia replied casually.

“But I get a full check–up every year.”

Sophia raised an eyebrow. “The doctors there were probably paid off by Geoffrey ages ago. Even your own staff might be in on it. No matter how careful they are, they will leave traces.”

She added, “Go gather some proof, so you can not only kick that jerk out but also send him and Amara to jail. Since they love each other so much, let’s make sure they stay together–behind bars. Agreed?”

Vicky nodded, feeling enlightened. “Thanks. Once I’ve sorted everything out, I’ll visit the Chandler family. And I will bring gifts.”

Sophia’s eyes sparkled. “Can I add you as a friend first?”

In the car, Sophia caught Charlotte stealing glances at her a few times. Finally, Sophia spoke up, “Charlotte, what’s on your mind?”

When the light turned red, Charlotte stopped the car and asked, “You seem to know everything.”

Sophia laughed. “Oh, I just take random guesses.”

Charlotte smirked. “Well, your guesses are pretty accurate.”

Sophia nodded, putting on an exaggeratedly serious face. Her antics made Charlotte laugh. Sophia said, “Charlotte, you’re destined to live a long and healthy life.”

“Thanks for the kind words,” Charlotte said with a smile.

Charlotte didn’t pay much attention to what Sophia said. After dropping Sophia off at the Chandler residence, she left. Sophia noticed a car parked outside that clearly didn’t belong to the family. Raising an eyebrow, she stepped inside.

“Thank you so much for today. If it weren’t for you, Yvette might have fainted in the street,” Heather said gratefully to Alistair in the living room.

“No need to thank me, Heather. Whether it was Wette or anyone else, I wouldn’t just stand by and do nothing,” Alistair replied, his back to Sophia. Across from him, Yvette’s cheeks turned a light pink.

Sophia’s curiosity was piqued, and she quickened her pace to see which man had caught Yvette’s eye this time. When she saw Alistair’s face, she couldn’t help but laugh.

“You’re back earlier than I thought, Sophia,” Heather said, her heart racing. She hadn’t forgotten the sharp words Sophia had thrown at her earlier.

With a slight smile, Sophia said nothing.

Heather quickly introduced, “This is Alistair Shelton. Yvette almost fainted from low blood sugar on the street, and he kindly brought her back.”

Alistair, who had been sipping coffee with a dark look since Sophia arrived, set his cup down and greeted her with a polite nod. “Nice to meet you.”

Sophia looked him over, a smile curling her lips. “I feel sad for you.”

Alistair’s face froze. “What do you mean by that?”
