The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 238

Sirius was famous in the underworld, and he wasn't afraid to fight and kill. Then, he became loyal to Fang after meeting the latter.

Although Sirius had never worked with Nolan directly before, he still admired Nolan a lot for far too many reasons. So, when he heard that someone was actually bold enough to spy on Nolan, he thought it was ridiculous.

Meanwhile, Michael and the rest were nervous. After all, Sirius had way more men than Michael. However, they were still in Bellington, and Michael didn't believe anyone would dare to do anything to them there.

"You shouldn't be so arrogant, my friend. Although your army is bigger now, we're still in Bellington. Don't you know who we are? We're from the Baxters, and our leader is Lincoln. If you stir up any trouble with him, you might not be able to make it out of Bellington alive."

Michael gritted his teeth and wasn't planning on showing defeat. So, he wanted to go head-to-head with Sirius using the Baxters' and Lincoln's reputation.

When Sirius heard that, he slapped Michael right away and coldly said, "Damn it! How dare you threaten me when I'm showing respect here? Who cares about the Baxters and Lincoln? Do you think you're all that just because you're from the underworld?

"I might not be able to deal with them now, but I can easily kill you and your men now. So, how dare you be so arrogant? Are you tired of living? Or do you think life is boring now?"

Michael fell into a daze after being slapped, and he instantly became furious. However, he glanced at the numerous men in suits around them, and the anger faded away for the time being.

"Alright. I shall remember this—"
