Nolan was led up the steps by Smitty and a few others. As they reached the top, he took the initiative to extend his hand and greeted him with a smile. "Congratulations, Mr. George. Kara has officially become an adult. You can rest easy now."
At this moment, George's smile was forced as he gazed at Nolan's outstretched hand. He had no desire to shake it. In fact, he stuffed his hands in his pockets and replied with a small grin, "Mr. George?
"Nolan, I don't think you should call me by my first name. It may give the impression that our relationship is better than it actually is. Just call me Mr. Weiss."
Upon hearing these words, Nolan's gaze sharpened as he scrutinized George. He nodded and replied, "Is that so? Well, I may have overstepped my boundaries. Very well then, Mr. Weiss. Is this title appropriate?"
George nodded and confirmed, "Yes. This is as far as our relationship goes. It's for the best to avoid any potential misunderstandings with others."
"Mr. Greene, did you come here specifically for my niece's coming-of-age ceremony? Are you absolutely certain there's nothing else that brought you here?"
Upon hearing this, Nolan turned to George and let out a small laugh. "Today is Kara's birthday party, and she specifically invited me to attend. That's why I'm here—to give her gifts and wish her well. What else is Mr. Weiss referring to?"
George's anger rose as he heard this, seeing that Nolan was still trying to play the fool and pretend to be ignorant.
With a pointed finger toward Smitty and the group of people surrounding Nolan, he sneered. "Nolan, what are you trying to fake in front of me? Can't you understand what I’m saying?
