The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 338

Everyone's eyes were locked on Blake, waiting to see what else he'd pull out to prove the Crystal of Devotion was genuine.

Blake smiled and said, "Norwich Jewelers in Eastern State sold the Crystal of Devotion a few days back. That's not exactly a secret—anyone can look it up.

"Honestly, I don't even need to say another word—just swing by Norwich Jewelers, and it'll all be crystal clear, right? I can even permit you to check their surveillance footage. Pretty sure that clears up any doubts, doesn't it?"

After that, no one questioned Blake. The facts spoke for themselves—all it took was checking if the Crystal of Devotion had been sold.

With both Blake and Nick backing Nolan, there was no way anyone could doubt him. Everyone just couldn't wrap their heads around how Nolan could afford the Crystal of Devotion.

Megan went pale as she stared at Nolan standing there, calm as ever in the middle of the banquet hall. It all felt so unreal to her.

"How is this even possible? He's just some regular guy who was just let out of prison. How did he come up with the money for the Crystal of Devotion—and why would he give it away so easily?" she murmured.

Seeing Megan wobble as if she'd just been hit with a ton of bricks, Jeanne quickly steadied her and whispered, "Megan, there's no point in dwelling on it now. At least Spirit of Life Serum can't be real."

Her words snapped Megan back to reality, but she quickly wore a bitter expression. "If the Crystal of Devotion is real, how can we be sure Spirit of Life Serum isn't?"

Jeanne was left speechless.
