Megan was sobbing uncontrollably, painting herself as the helpless victim. Melody let out a deep breath and continued to show her support by holding Megan's hand.
Wayne's face turned red with anger. He balled his fists and barked, "Don't worry, Megan. We'll make him pay for this. If he doesn't have the guts to apologize to you, I'll break his legs. This is unacceptable!"
Liana, Nolan's older sister, hesitated briefly and said, "My brother has been in jail for three years. Maybe he's just being stubborn at the moment. Don't take it personally. He's been through a lot."
Liana's husband, Tyler, responded to her words impatiently. "You're still spoiling him? Don't you know what your brother is like?
"He was never one to bring peace of mind, and he's selfish too. I remember when he had all that money, I asked to borrow some, but he turned me down. Now, karma has caught up to him. Let's see if he's still got that cocky attitude."
As Tyler spoke ill of Liana's brother, her expression turned grim. "You lost all that money gambling and had a mountain of debts. Didn't my brother help you pay them off?
"And what about you? You never changed your ways despite being warned. He stopped trusting you, which is why he didn't lend you any money.
"But didn't he help you in other ways? He got you a job, paid off your debts, and even pitched in for our house. How could you say those things about my brother? You're such a jerk."
Tyler snorted and remained silent, but his eyes were filled with anger and resentment.
Megan interjected, "Liana, Tyler, don't fight because of me. Nothing is going on between Nolan and me. As long as we can make up, everything will be okay.
"Tyler, please don't get upset. It's just about money. Our family is not struggling financially. I promise to take care of you."
As soon as those words left her lips, Tyler's face lit up with a smile.
"Good, that's great. Megan, don't worry. If Nolan dares to be disobedient and doesn't properly apologize to you, as your brother-in-law, I won't let him off easily, so don't worry. This kid has been afraid of me since he was little. If Wayne doesn't want to take action, I'll do it."
