Nolan never intended to negotiate with Gregory.
"Refuse?"
"Fine. Refuse, and you die."
Gregory met Nolan's indifferent gaze, then slowly lowered his head, as though lost in thought.
Moments later, soft laughter escaped his lips.
"Mr. Greene, so you're telling me there's no room for negotiation?"
Nolan nodded, his voice steady and cold.
"I'm not here to negotiate. This is my decision. You have only two choices: comply or face the consequences."
The audacity… The sheer arrogance!
Gregory's laughter grew louder. Rising slowly from the sofa, he faced Nolan with a calm yet icy demeanor.
"Mr. Greene, you might be formidable, but I, Gregory, have ruled the Eastern State underworld for years. I am no pushover.
"To demand that I step away from the underworld in a single sentence, and worse, to hand over everything I've built to Fang? That's tantamount to asking me to give away everything I've fought for."
"Don't you think that's excessively domineering, Mr. Greene? And utterly unreasonable?
"You truly see me, Gregory, as someone insignificant? Someone you can manipulate however you please?"
"If that's the case, then yes, we have nothing more to discuss. But I'd advise you not to push your luck. Remember, there's always someone stronger. No one is invincible."
"My influence isn't as fragile as you imagine. Be careful, Mr. Greene, or you might choke on what you're trying to swallow."
As Gregory's voice grew heated, the expressions of his trusted lieutenants darkened with hostility.
"Gregory, why bother with him? Just kill him and be done with it."
"Exactly! This is Eastland—our turf. Letting him walk out alive would make us a laughing stock!"
"Just say the word, Gregory. The few of us together can take him down."
Ironhead and Mad Dog, however, remained silent, their faces pale. They had seen Nolan's strength firsthand, and it left no room for doubt.
Nolan glanced at the group, a faint smirk curling his lips.
