The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 429

"Dad, in your eyes, am I really such a disgrace? Am I so unworthy of being your son?" Nolan's voice was calm, but there was a trace of bitterness beneath it.

"Yes, I went to jail, and yes, I brought shame upon you. But even if I have a thousand faults, what about Niall and Liana? What wrong have they done?

"They are loyal, honest, dutiful, and endlessly tolerant. They embody everything you've ever wanted. But have you ever stopped to think if they're truly happy? Have you ever considered whether they've suffered?"

Nolan's mind was racing with the details he had uncovered, the evidence of how Niall and Liana had been mistreated, of the pain and humiliation they had endured. And who was responsible for all this? Could Wayne truly deny that he bore any part of the blame?

Wayne's hand trembled as he pointed at his son, his face red with anger. But before he could speak, Nolan cut him off.

"I didn't want to make you angry," Nolan said, his voice rising sharply, cutting through the tension like a knife.

"I tried. Prepared myself to endure it, to hold back again and again. But not anymore.

"I thought about finding the right time, the right way to reveal the truth to you. To make you see without hurting you too much. But now, I see you need to know, no matter what. You need to understand how deeply you've been wrong!

"Tyler's behavior is despicable!

"And Sharon, someone I've never even laid eyes on, she's just as guilty!

"You wait and see. I'll show you the truth. Soon. Very soon."

Wayne was livid, his voice shaking with fury. Criticizing Tyler was one thing, but how could Nolan even drag Sharon into this? What was Nolan trying to do?

"You ungrateful child! What's your plan? What are you trying to accomplish?" Wayne demanded, his voice cracking with anger.

"Tyler treated you poorly, he bullied you. Fine, I can understand your anger. But Sharon? You've never even met her! Where does all this hatred come from? Are you trying to destroy this family? Is that what will make you happy?"
