Megan gently took Sharon's hand and smiled. "Sharon, today's a big day for the family reunion. We can't let anything ruin it, right? So, let's not dwell on the small stuff. And don't worry, I've got everything covered."
After saying that, she turned to Wayne with a reassuring smile. "Wayne, please don't be angry. Nolan will come around. He just needs a little time. In any case, we can't let anyone make a mockery of us today.
"This isn't just a day for them to celebrate; it's for us too. I'm not sure what the big shot at the family reunion will do, but I can promise you that the gifts I'm giving to Rio Village will make you proud."
Wayne finally smiled when he heard Megan's assurance. Clearly, the more he saw of Megan, the more pleased he was with her. In contrast, his anger toward Nolan only continued to grow.
"Megan's right. We'll deal with Nolan after the family reunion. For now, let's head to the central square. Even though our family may not be the main focus today, it's still a day for us to hold our heads high."
After Wayne finished speaking, he took the lead and stepped out of Niall's house, with the others following closely behind.
Meanwhile, tables had already been set up in the central square, with only a few on the raised stage. These were reserved for the true VIPs—the village leaders, business executives, and respected figures. Naturally, Harold, Hoover, and the rest of the family were among them.
Ben Stutton, the village head, noticed that most of the guests had arrived and, with a smile, asked, "Mr. Greene Senior, may I say a few words first?"
Harold nodded with a smile. "Sure, go ahead."
Ben stepped up to the microphone and addressed the crowd from the stage. "Everyone, please settle down. We all know what today is, so there's no need for further explanation. But I do have some exciting news to share.
"Mr. Greene Senior isn't just here for the family reunion—he's also brought generous gifts for all the villagers. As for the details, I'll leave for Mr. Greene Senior to share them himself. So now, let's all give him a warm round of applause."
