Ben and the others were absolutely dumbfounded. They had been certain that with Hoover personally stepping in, the situation was as good as resolved. After all, even Archie himself had acknowledged Harold's reputation and expressed admiration for him.
Yet, even knowing all this, he still went to find Nolan first? It was as good as telling everyone he viewed Nolan as having a higher status than Harold.
Displeasure was evident on Hoover's face as he watched Archie and his group eagerly approach Nolan. His mood plummeted even further when he saw the growing crowd around Nolan.
"Utter foolishness! It's truly surprising someone like Archie Baxter could have risen to where he is today."
At that moment, Ben noticed Hoover's displeasure and quickly said with a forced smile, "Mr. Greene, don't be upset. Mr. Baxter probably has some urgent business with Nolan, and that's why he's rushing over. Once he's done, he'll definitely go and greet Mr. Greene Senior. Besides, we can all see that he respects Mr. Greene Senior a lot, so I'm pretty sure he would dare to offend him."
Hoover sneered upon hearing this. "Oh, please. As if I would pay attention to a mere Baxter. To be honest, before coming to the Eastern State, we had already made arrangements for Mr. Lynch to personally be in charge of our family's safety. Now, do you understand why I'm not afraid of anyone in the Eastern State?"
As he spoke, a smug smile gradually appeared on his lips. Indeed, Hoover was not afraid, because everyone present had heard of Gregory's name.
However, these past few days, the underworld of the Eastern State had fallen into a state of semi-silence, and many people were unaware of what had actually happened. For if they knew that Gregory had already lost an arm to Nolan and fled the Eastern State, their expressions would likely not be the same.
Ben and Stefan looked at Hoover, swallowing nervously. "Mr. Greene, are you referring to Gregory Lynch from Eastland? The leader of the underworld here in the Eastern State?"
