Megan snickered with her hand over her mouth and said, "You can beat him all you want but just make sure he doesn't die, okay? He's still my husband, after all, so at least leave him a way out."
At first, everyone thought Megan and Nolan shared an inseparable bond, but now it seemed that was not the case.
Meanwhile, Nolan had already captured the attention of everyone in the village. One by one, the big shots had arrived for the Greene family reunion. Even though Ben, and even Hoover, went to welcome them, they hadn't even managed to bring the guests over to the stage.
Instead, all of them had gravitated toward Nolan. Some sat, others stood beside him. If that wasn't surprising, then nothing in the world was.
At that moment, the ones most on edge were undoubtedly Tyler and Sharon. Both of them weren't just uneasy—they were practically drowning in guilt and fear.
"Tyler, what's going on? Why are all these big names flocking to Nolan? Could it be that they're really here to support him?" Sharon asked worriedly.
Tyler's face darkened as he clenched his teeth. "Impossible! He's just a useless ex-con. There's no way he knows so many influential people. It's probably a coincidence—it just has to be!"
A coincidence? Looking at how these powerful figures treated Nolan with such respect, it was hard to believe it was a mere coincidence. In fact, it was abundantly clear that they were there to pay their respects to Nolan.
"Tyler, I have a bad feeling about this. Nolan has shown himself to be ruthless and vengeful, determined to settle scores with everyone, and we didn't take him seriously. But now, it looks like he's come prepared. I really don't feel good about this. I think we should leave."
