Hoover smiled lightly and replied, "Uncle Wayne, I think it's best to let it go. Nolan is in the spotlight right now, and as long as he doesn't stir up trouble for us, we won't make an issue of it. After all, we're celebrating our family reunion, so the more, the merrier.

"Not to mention, it'll be grander with more people. But I do wonder if there'll be more people showing up, because from the looks of it, the situation might be more complex than we think."

Wayne could detect the subtle mockery in Hoover's tone, but at that moment, he could do little more than swallow his pride and smile along.
