The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 473

Harold and Hoover's words helped Ben, Stefan, and the other high-ranking villagers regain their confidence.

"T-Tyler, what's going on? How did Nolan suddenly become this untouchable big shot? Now, Mr. Stutton and the others are trembling with fear. Did we make the wrong choice?" Sharon spoke cautiously, her eyes filled with terror.

Tyler swallowed nervously and replied carefully, "D-Don't worry. Let's wait and see how things play out. Someone as powerful as Mr. Greene Senior must have a way to handle this. He'll definitely win, for sure."

Sharon nodded and said cautiously, "Well, if things go south later, I'm going to side with Niall. I'll just say I was forced by these people. I don't care—I'm not gonna let myself suffer. And Tyler, can't you see? No matter who wins or loses this time, Nolan and his family are no longer what they used to be.

"Nolan is far from a simple character. Just the fact that he knows so many powerful people—if he even lets a little bit slip through his fingers, it's enough to bring us all wealth and power. Oh, why did I listen to you? Damn it!"

At this moment, Sharon hadn't fully grasped the gravity of the situation. What she regretted most was potentially losing the wealth she could have gained.

Tyler gritted his teeth. "Let's wait and see. If Nolan and his people are finished, then all that wealth won't matter. Who knows, we might even inherit their fortune."

At this point, Tyler's eyes lit up. As the son-in-law of the Greene family, he truly might have the right to inherit their wealth. At a time like this, the fact that Tyler and Sharon were still consumed by such selfish thoughts revealed just how deeply sinful and despicable they had become.

Meanwhile, Megan stood off to the side of the stage, her eyes reflecting a complex mix of emotions—melancholy, dissatisfaction, resentment, helplessness, and a faint trace of resignation.
