Nolan nodded toward several of the business tycoons standing nearby.
"Proceed with the settlements. Terminate contracts where necessary, and pursue compensation where possible. If you need to report to the authorities, do it. If it needs to go through the legal process, then let it. We've all worked hard for our money, so there's no need to let them get away with it."
He then turned his attention to the villagers gathered below. With a smile, he said, "Good luck to you all!"
With that, Nolan began to walk away.
The villagers were filled with despair. They knew all too well that even if Nolan didn't personally come after them, the looming debts they faced were enough to drown them completely.
"Nolan, we were wrong, but we were deceived too!"
"Nolan, please, we're all family! Give us one more chance. We can lose our jobs, but don't let us end up drowning in debt! Nolan, please, spare us!"
"Nolan, I've watched you grow up since you were a child. Can you just help us out, just this once?"
"Please, don't hold it against us, Nolan! Save us, please, save us!"
In that moment, everyone who had once cursed Nolan, even threatening his life, began to beg for his mercy.
But Nolan merely responded coldly, "Sorry, I have no ties to any of you. After all, the family registry no longer holds the name of me or my family."
