Megan nodded and said, "I'll call him right now."
With that, she dialed Nolan's number.
The call connected quickly, and on the other end, Nolan's icy voice came through.
"Megan, you'd better have a good reason for calling," Nolan said, his tone anything but friendly.
Nolan was already forcing himself to suppress his temper. He still didn't know whether Malcolm was alive or dead. If Malcolm was alive, things might be manageable, but if Malcolm was dead, Nolan couldn't predict what he might do.
But one thing was for sure—whether Malcolm lived or died, nothing could stop the burning resolve in Nolan to exact bloody vengeance on his enemies.
"Nolan, can't you be a little nicer? I wouldn't call you without a reason. But I'd prefer to talk face-to-face. Where are you? I'll go find you."
"Are you looking to beg me again? Forget it. It's best if we don't meet again—unless you want to regret it," said Nolan icily.
His tone made it clear he had no qualms about dealing with Megan harshly again.
Megan's anger flared instantly. With Owen's plans now in motion and the Spirit of Life Serum sent specifically to her, it was clear how important she had become to him. Because of this, Megan truly had nothing to fear anymore. At least in the Eastern State, she felt completely untouchable.
"I have the Spirit of Life Serum, and I want you to see what the real one looks like. That is, unless you're too scared to face me," Megan said, using taunting words to ensure Nolan wouldn't refuse.
