After hanging up, Megan's face lit up with excitement. She turned to Jeanne and said, "Jeanne, you're coming with me. This time, we're going to see Nolan's stunned expression for ourselves.
"And his parents—hmph, they had the audacity not to stand up for me before. This time, when I see them, I won't bother pretending to be nice. I'm going to mock them mercilessly and make them understand that I am someone far out of their league."
The thought of all the effort she had put into flattering Wayne and Melody, only for them to ultimately refuse to support her—even turning a blind eye when she was hit—ignited a burning rage in Megan's heart.
This time, with Owen backing her and Myth Group as her trump card, she refused to believe that Nolan would dare cause her trouble again. She was determined to make Wayne and Melody understand what it truly meant to regret their choices!
Jeanne glanced at Megan and cautiously said, "Megan, maybe we should tone it down a little? After all, you said it yourself—Nolan is incredibly powerful now. So many big shots and influential figures in the Eastern State are on good terms with him, so provoking him at a time like this… wouldn't it just give him an excuse to bully us?
"I know Mr. Norberg is formidable, but he's not here with us right now. You know the saying—'a wise man knows when to hold his tongue.' If Nolan gets furious and acts recklessly, we might end up on the losing side, and that wouldn't be worth it."
Jeanne's caution made sense.
Megan wasn't a complete fool—she had just let her anger cloud her judgment for a moment. However, now that she had spoken so boldly, she felt it would be embarrassing to backtrack in front of Jeanne.
"Don't worry. He won't dare to do anything to me. And even if he does, I don't see it as a bad thing. A few bruises could actually work in my favor when I go to Owen for help. Alright, enough talking. Let's go."
Hearing this, Jeanne nodded and asked, "Should we bring more bodyguards, just in case?"
Megan thought back to the scene in Rio Village, where Nolan could command over a thousand people effortlessly. To her, no matter how many bodyguards she brought, it wouldn't make much of a difference against someone like Nolan.
