Perhaps it was the scenery, or perhaps something else, but at that moment, Megan was strangely in a good mood.
Smiling at Nolan, she said, "Nolan, you really know how to keep a secret, don't you? Is this your home?"
Nolan slowly opened his eyes and nodded faintly. "Since you already know, why bother asking? You've brought quite a crowd with you. Why didn't you let them come to the island? Wouldn't that give you a greater sense of security?"
Megan chuckled lightly at his response. "Your observational skills are sharp, I'll give you that. But there's no need for them to come to the island. I bet you wouldn't dare do anything to me anyway. Nolan, I'm curious—when was this place built? How come I've never heard anything about it?"
Nolan didn't bother to hide the truth from her. With a calm demeanor, he replied, "The construction officially started a little over two years ago. You shouldn't be shocked. After all, if I could achieve so much even while in prison, building a residence like this seems well within reason, doesn't it?"
Megan nodded. "I'm curious about another thing—if I hadn't asked to see you today, how long were you planning to keep this a secret? Nolan, you've been keeping secrets from me from the very beginning. It's clear you've been on guard against me all along, yet you still act like you're the one who's been wronged. You've got some nerve!"
Megan was convinced that Nolan had been deliberately hiding things from her. But to Nolan, her accusation was almost laughable.
Nolan stood up slowly and looked at Megan with a faint smile. "If you hadn't filed for divorce the moment I got out of prison, you would have known everything about me one day. As for why I didn't tell you, it wasn't just because I wanted to surprise you.
