"Did I hit you too hard last time? Did it mess up your brain? If that's the case, I'll give you some money—go get your head checked."
As Nolan spoke, he pulled a few hundred-dollar bills out of his pocket and casually tossed them on the ground.
The gesture wasn't just humiliating—it was a slap in the face, plain and simple.
Megan's expression immediately twisted in fury.
"Nolan, who do you think you're humiliating? Do you really think you can bully me without consequence? Dream on! Oh, right, Myth Group—didn't you once brag about having some connection to them? Well, let me tell you, even if you do, it doesn't matter anymore! Because Myth Group is already Owen Norberg's!"
She laughed maniacally before continuing, "Nolan, I'm not afraid to tell you—have you heard of Owen Norberg? Even if Owen didn't have Myth Group, he could still crush you effortlessly. You've been nothing from the start, Nolan. Do you understand?
"Whereas I will be the future matriarch of the Norberg family! Now you understand why I've always thought you were a failure, why I believed you were never good enough for me, and why I filed for divorce the moment you were released from prison. Because Owen is my true soulmate!"
At that moment, Megan's face was full of arrogance, her eyes practically glowing with pride whenever she mentioned Owen. But when she looked at Nolan, her gaze was filled with nothing but disdain, as if even comparing Nolan to Owen was an insult to Owen himself.
Nolan, however, narrowed his eyes slightly at Megan. In a calm voice, he said, "Owen Norberg? So, the one who made a move against Myth Group is this Owen you're so proud of, huh? Heh, for someone bold enough to target Myth Group and for you to praise so highly, he must be quite impressive. It's just a shame that I don't recall hearing much about him."
For Nolan, the Norberg family wasn't something he was particularly familiar with. Over the past years, he hadn't bothered to pay attention to prominent families or their affairs. Even after his return, there were plenty of things he didn't feel the need to concern himself with.
