After hanging up, Nolan looked at Megan and Jeanne. With a smile, he said, "It was just a phone call; no big deal. Please continue."
What else was there to say?
Megan and Jeanne weren't fools; they could easily tell what Nolan was up to. It was just that Megan refused to believe Nolan had the capability to handle Owen.
"Nolan, just who are you trying to scare with that phone call? Do you really think Myth Group belongs to you? And now you're talking about dealing with traitors? Even Owen as well? Did you not hear the word I just said?"
Nolan looked at her and chuckled softly. "If I remember correctly, I did tell you once that Myth Group was mine. You just didn't believe me."
He then pointed at Jeanne. "That number I gave you earlier—don't tell me you didn't call it. Who answered? Go on, tell Megan."
Jeanne instantly turned pale. She glanced at Megan and stammered, "I did make the call, but I was just testing the waters. I didn't actually believe Nolan, and honestly, I regretted it right after. It turned out he was just messing with me!"
Megan looked at Jeanne and, in a low voice, said, "I don't care whether you've made the call. Just tell me—what does he mean by this?"
Jeanne quickly answered, "The person who answered said he was the president of Myth Group. But that's impossible, right? It had to be a joke, so I didn't take it seriously. I swear, Megan, I only made that one call. Besides, you have my word that I didn't do it with the intention to betray you!
